It's a Sad Day in Oregon

It’s not the people that vote. It’s the people that count the ballots.
Once you think a politician is going to help you, you’ve got serious problems.
Their only job is to get re-elected.
And when we think it can't get any worse, the libtard Dimokrats in Ptld re-write the districts to include us here in the mostly rural central portion of the state in to a friggin' Portland district! Then we're at the illogical envelope of all the libs in that crap town.

It's just not fair anyway you look at it! Glad I have all the guns I think I need until I'm pushin' up daises, as buying permit to even BUY a gun is just crap seeing as most of us have been cleared at the local, state and federal level and have CCP's. I can see this one going to the Supreme Court.

A short term answer is what most in NY did with the initial SAFE act...compliance was less than 1/2 of one percent...so bad the state refused to open the data up to the public. So to make it better...they rewrote it worser. SAFE act 2. Idiots.

The sporting use side of firearms ownership is being curtailed.

Don't be fooled about the other sides

Thank God I'm grandfathered in!!! As soon as you turn into a grandfather, all stupid laws no longer apply to you...this is a prime example! Screw 'em!!! They take one look at me and think, this sumbitch ain't going to last much longer, so we'll just leave him alone and let him die on his own. Ignore them all until you have to shoot

My wife moved to the western part of Oregon when she was young, and was ridiculed by neighbors for going to church....

Yah rural America keeps shrinking as the metro areas keep expanding. So goes our way of life and individual rights. Even gun friendly states are cracking. It's coming to a county near you. You can count on that.

Wasn't East OR or WA trying to join ID? What happened to that movement?

@jds holler

Well it hasn't actually went into effect yet and there's still time for an appeal to the Oregon Supreme court.

My understanding from my local shop is mag limits may come next week but the permit there still is no date set for it to go into effect. I don't see anything happening before the 35 days are up and if appealed much longer. The Oregon Supreme court slapped down ODFW some years back, there's still possibility they may side with us on 114 too.

Best for normal people to move out of the hopeless wacko states so they lose congressional seats and electoral votes and move to free states.
Why do you think the border laws weren't enforced by E.O. under the Biden administration, they needed voters to counter population loss. And every democrat pushes non citizen "voting rights". There is fraudulent illegal immigrant voting in EVERY STATE.

Yes.
But it doesn’t have to be that anymore. It’s split 50-50 with population in NYS and NYC. People upstate’ just don’t vote. They believe they’re still outnumbered. And in NYC they vote early and often.
And yes again I agree, NYS is one of the most beautiful of them all.
Adirondack Park is larger than Yellowstone, Glacier, and Yosemite national parks combined.
You NAILED it!!!! 100% CORRECT, Sir!

That is a sad day, our right and liberties erode constantly!

Unfortunately Arizona is getting a flood of outsiders who applaud this insanity. It’s always been a strong 2A state but it’s changing as is many of the states in the west.
Yup. Phx and Maricopa County, Tucson, Flag but Yuma county remains RED…….for now anyway. This state is not what used to be

Here's a sad story about the Californication of my childhood stomping grounds that scarred me for life.

When I was a kid - 60's/70's, there was a shooting range about a mile as the crow flies from my house. It was on a piece of Oregon State owned property which also was used by a fire protection agency. It was nothing fancy, but it had a dozen shooting benches, and up to 300 yard rifle berm. It got a lot of use, since it was very close to our town. You could say that it was much used an much loved.

Then one summer, someone broke ground on a piece of property that no one would have figured for a home site. It was bordered on one side by a main highway, behind, by the state property, and below by a dirt road that headed up to a large chunk of unused private property.

They proceded to build a very fancy for our area, stone and timber ranch house, and surround it with stone walls, steel gates and a sign that said "Casa de Sumpthinorother". You can prolly guess where this is going.

One evening I went up to the range to shoot, and the gate was closed and locked with a large sign which said,

"DUE TO COMPLAINTS BY ADJACENT LAND OWNERS CONCERNING NOISE, THE SHOOTING RANGE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED"

By that point in my life, I was getting used to the immigration from California but that one really made it burn. On the other side of town, we lost the race track for the same reasons. :( jd

+1 from another Grampa (Papa)

There are ways around that law, it just means the average person is a criminal. And when that happens, you know what's next, They won't be able to enforce those laws.

LOL! And so many of us think that the Democratic Party died with Hitler, Lenin, Pol Pot, Mao, Carter, etc.

Oops, my bad, I meant Socialist/Communist parties. ;)

So I believe this is the first day that I need a permit to purchase a firearm in my home state.
Problem is -- there is nowhere to obtain the permit. Also any magazines with capacity over 10 are illegal except in my home, or at a licensed range. This all seems kind of like infringement to me. I don't quite know what to say. :( jd
I fled Oregon in 2021, the writing was on the wall. I feel for the many great people who do not have the option to leave the State.

Sounds like that sign is a day late and a dollar short.
Yep, Gov Tom McCall had the right idea, too bad someone thought welcoming Kalifornicators to come and stay was better. He was truly a great man.

{Referring to Oregon's tourist industry in a 1971 speech, McCall may have first publicly voiced his famous "Come visit, don't stay" slogan: "I urge them to come and come many, many times to enjoy the beauty of Oregon. But I also ask them, for heaven's sake, don't move here to live."}

That said Oregon is still a wonderful place, just pretty tarnished by all the libtards. We see it all the time, people move here because Oregon is such a wonderful place and 6-12 months or so later they are trying to change everything. Ask them why and the answer is almost always because "it's not like where they came from". I'm more than happy to remind them that the road runs both directions, don't like Oregon as it is, go back to wherever the heck you came from.

I thought more recently we'd be Cali north, but it seems Washington gets that title before us. I guess we'll end up Cali middle, or so it seems the way it's going of late.

I'm hoping "Greater Idaho" happens, I'll simply move back to the dry side and enjoy being part of Idaho while still where I love to be.
