7% rate of inflation, takes 10 years for prices to double.

I’m not buying this 7% inflation charade.

If inflation is only 7%, how come in two years our steel cost have gone up 60%, our submerged arc stainless steel welding wire has almost doubled, our insurance is getting ready to jump 20%, and tooling cost have gone up at least 30%?

That’s a hell of a lot more than 7%.

I have a guess. The new $600 threshold for reporting income, to include on-line sales like EBay, Craigs list and Facebook Marketplace. That’s going to tick off a lot of youngsters!

Sportsmans isn't known for good prices.
Everything is msrp or more, especially on reloading items.
Out here the farm store next to them is 3to15$ less on same items...cept primers

I bought 2 bricks of cci400s for $90/1000. I won't need to buy primers again for a few years. If I find some for closer to old prices down the road I'll be sure to buy a lifetime supply. Prices won't be returning to "normal", ever.

I don’t think it will be a hard stop for most, or rather a cut back. During the obama component/ammo shortage. Some of our loacl leages had reduced round count tournaments where they altered the shooting to use less ammo but still get out and shoot. I have not heard of any orgs doing that lately but it would make sense. I know I used to think nothing of shooting my hunting rifles for practice, but now find myself bringing the 22 with more often than i used to just for practice and plinking.

Powder 15 to 30 cents
Brass a dollar divided by 25 reloads How about 10 cents a shot?
Labor, free.
Gas to match $10 to local range for 2 people (airfare?) $5 / 69 shot=7 cents a shot/per person
Match fee (Wife and me) $10 to $20 per person. $10 / 69 shot=14.5 cents a shot/per person
Each and every shot off your match barrel life 10 to 15 cents,

add all of that up and subtract sponsor stipend and prize table.
