There seems to be a lot of different possibilities involved in this.If Hodgdon made the powder they sell it might be different, but they don't and are at the mercy of the suppliers.
And that brand of powder would be .................. ?I has since got rid of my Hodgdon powders and settled on one brand that is much more consistent and available.
I’ll venture a guess on Vihtavouri…And that brand of powder would be .................. ?
The basics of the market need to be well understood. The major use of gunpowder is the military(ies) of the world for small arms and larger. We as rifle shooters represent a small market especially if the kind type, etc of powders used are considered. We are not ignored, however and there are companies who specialize in the shooting sports. If Hodgdon made the powder they sell it might be different, but they don't and are at the mercy of the suppliers.
If Hodgdon can’t sell enuf ADI will drop it which it has.To spend all the money to develop and market a powder line only to drop it it doesnt make sense. This happens often with the Winchester line also. 780, 785 and others. It costs us money to develop loads also. 4166 shot amazing in several of my rifles with good speed and single digit es. I has since got rid of my Hodgdon powders and settled on one brand that is much more consistent and available. I wont buy another powder owned by the hodgdon or vista monopolies
ADI didnt make the Enduron line, the General Dynamics IMR plant in Canada made it. ADI makes the extreme line. Did they drop the extreme line? I seriously doubt it.If Hodgdon can’t sell enuf ADI will drop it which it has.
was a general comment re the ADI/Hodgdon I'm most familiar with.ADI didnt make the Enduron line, the General Dynamics IMR plant in Canada made it. ADI makes the extreme line. Did they drop the extreme line? I seriously doubt it.
What does this mean?hodgdon is pricing out an article i read a while back another monopoly
With the tarrif in place today, is the price of powder from Canada going up 25%?What does this mean?
Indeed.What does this mean?
I'm actually trying to get more rounds down range so I can use more White River SRP's.I just read in the NRA mag that White River Energetics is adding a $70M 100,000 sq. ft. expansion at their facility in Arkansas for single-base powder production.
