IMR 8208 powder ?

anyone testing the 8208 powder in the 6br?
i been working out loads with it and the 70gr SBK.
im shooting a 14 twist and its been giving good velocity with the 70gr SBK.

it seems a bit just too slow a burn rate.

Tried some in an 8 twist with HBN coated 80gn Bergers.
Seemed to shoot pretty well. My notes indicate 34.1 gns as the most accurate grouping node in my testing. The ladder I shot showed another node beginning just above that. Never got around to further testing.
Pressures seemed stout but not crazy.
Don't accept my data as your own. Lots of little variables can make it safe for me but dangerous for someone else.

Interesting!. shot 3 shot groups at 100yds, velocity pressure testing at 90deg F. at 33.5 grs with 70gr SBK got 3,515-3,515-3,528 FPS with no pressure signs, but seemed a hot load. so the next morning at 69.8deg F shot a ten shot string, 3,476-3,495 FPS groups were .269-.402. shot 34grs with 65gr v-max 5-shots were 3,576 to 3,605 FPS at 69.8 deg F (THAT LOAD WAS HOT AND SHOWED EXCESSIVE PRESSURE). so have had a big ES. an over a 50fps velocity change with a 20deg temp change. still going to do alot more testing but so far not that impressed.

Gotta admit I'm not all that impressed by XBR either.
Received my jug last winter. Promptly loaded up a ladder test in my PPC.
Subfreezing temps around 20-25. Ladder showed a huge node as promised. Shot some groups in that node and they showed classic group patterning with the super accurate load roughly dead center of the ladder test node.
Day or two later I ran through that node again. Groups still looked like they were shot by a pro but accuracy seemed to shift .3gns. Still happy as a clam.

Put the gun away until spring. 70 degrees I ran through that node again. Node totally disappeared. Shot another ladder test. Never found that big node again. Shooting groups over the next few weeks there was accuracy potential but it seemed to need constant tuning. Might as well shoot N-133 if you have to tune minute by minute ;D
Eventually switched back to the old PPC load/powder that had worked fairly well the previous summer.

I plan on running XBR through its paces again soon. Would like to try it again in winter too.

Yea i worked from 30.5grs up to 34.0grs and it looked promising, but ES has been no good. but the veloicty with the 70gr SBK has been good at 3,500fps with no bad pressure signs.(in my rifle). the temp swing of 20deg at a 50fps differance is no good. but my chrony may not have been in the exact spot so im going to measure out to it and keep it in the same spot, i need more testing and more info, so i will keep shooting.
