Important Note about 6mm BR Lapua Brass:

Right on Stan,,,I just remember that they also made the 308 basic with no flash hole also,,,and some with no headstamp (mine all say 22 BR Rem),,,,some 7mm BR brass was nickle plated !!!,,,,I had not thought of this for several years,,,,thank goodness we have Lapua brass now,,,,Roger

Expiper - I still have a good stash of the original Remington .308UBR brass - not many recall the fun involved in making 22/6 BR brass way back then - make me feel OLD!;) Been pointing this out in a couple of other threads - of course, when we neck up, the brass get shorter, & vice versa. I certainly do not have a handle on the when/how/why, the dimensions were changed, but most of the Winchester & Rem. brass (for .308 bolt-face cartridges), right up to the last crash, featured relatively small - 0.463-.464" web diameters - the Lapua is just fatter. Lot o' words to say, I like your post!:) RG

and THE expiper haha--unfortunately Stan Taylor has died (about a year ago) he was a true competitor and contributed much to the development of target barrels and rifle advancement --it looks like its up to me and RG for a while now--I hope everyone is enjoying the long summer days throwing lead--Roger
