Imp wax on neck and shoulder resizing

You are probably right but I guess I was curious about this one specific detail and some more experienced opinions. Trying to go from getting started in reloading to deeper diving into the details with this new build. Either way I learned a lot today and appreciate the input.
Never hurts to pose a question, if nothing else for good discussion and to keep a topic on the front page for newer members. That said, I use imperial wax and spread it as thin as possible on case and neck, applying a thin coat to the inside of the neck with a cotton swab every 3rd case to help with the neck mandrel lubrication.

Hornady Universal Wax, wipe a small amount on forefinger and thumb then rub down entire case one at a time.. Been loading and doing this for about 1500 223 cases a year for the past 2+ years. No dents, no stuck cases. I also have an old brass bore brush wrapped with a pcs of patch that also has wax embedded very lightly that gets used inside the necks.

I actually read the directions that came with my bushing . They recommend a little lube on case necks . I just touch the very tip of index finger and spin on neck. Seems to keep from scoring neck, and I’m getting very consistent neck diameter with my bushings. And yes Imperial is excellent lube. No mandrel used on Redding die.

When we hit the Covid shortages , I was kind of forced to go with the Hornady Lube . Same application practices as the Imperial Lube , and found no difference between them . Touch the lube , and spread thinly the length of the case , neck included . Less is more , so a barely there coating is enough .

As far as the body lube goes. I make sure to put a super thisn coat on the crve of the shoulder, but no higher, then I use a Forster drylube neck brush to lube the neck, and when I am just neck sizing, the dry lube is all I use.

Imperial, sparingly, lower/web area of case and the neck. If I happen to get a little on the shoulder when doing the neck, I don't worry about it.

Late to the party on this one but, I very lightly coat the neck, shoulder and maybe 1/4 of the body. I feel that the lube is dragged down further on the body. Never had a stick case and the case to case bump is very consistent.

Imperial is a pain to remove completely. I'm looking for an alternative that is easier to remove.

That out of the way, I very lightly lube the body and whatever is left on my fingers is spun on the neck.

You might try the Hornady one shot wax in the tin.
