Imp wax on neck and shoulder resizing

Freezebomb

Quick question that my research showed a lot of different opinions (imagine that in this sport). When lubing brass for FL resize, do you lube the neck and shoulder or just the case body. I am using imperial sizing wax, sac/micron bushing, 6mm bra, rock chucker.

Thanks

Thanks all. On my “learning what the hell im doing” gun, I only lubed the body. Been evaluating my entire process on this new build. Appreciate the input.

Just the body for me. And, on something like a BRA, only the lower half. You only need enough lube to keep the case from sticking and to get a smooth stroke on the press. Anything more is overkill in my opinion.

Body only for me to avoid dents in the shoulder. I'm not sure why anyone would want to lube the shoulder. Although I have never had to do it, I can see where a very light coating on the neck might be beneficial.

Imperial sizing wax is the best lube I've ever used; a small can last me years and I lube about 1,000 cases a year.

The key operative word in using Imperial is "sparingly".

i am rather liberal with my wax application (i apply it to the whole case), and i’ve never had issues with variable sizing like others have stated. I believe there may be other issues at play for the people having those issues.

I lube the whole case, however having done that,I wipe the neck and shoulder, there will be a sheen on that part, all it needs and probably some lube migrates foward from the body.It is a long time since I have had dents in the shoulder. The other thing, what harm does half to one thousand of an inch less headspace do?

agreed, absolutely nothing.

its more an annoyance thing for me, trying to be careful to not get any lube on the shoulder. I agree, the lube from the body likely gets on the shoulder inside the die anyways…..
