I'm old, yes, but what do they teach people these days?

Sorry, but I have used commercial grade bleach on my vinyl fence and siding for years and NO adverse effects. I think it`s in the rinse and not leaving it on too long. Jeff

Why not just a pressure washer? With enough pressure it does not seem to need anything but just that !

It comes off that way but with in a week or two it starts to come right back. At least the green mold does, needs bleach to kill it.
Like a few others I've done it this way (bleach) for forty years no ill effects yet.

I have been on boats since I was 6 months old.
My father taught me these easy ways to remember the boating terms.
Left and port both have 4 letters.
Port is red because port wine is red.
Red right return, meaning, the red should be on your right when returning to port.

I think the common sense is an old timer thing because you needed it then.
My father was born in 1925. At that time there were quite a few people still using hoarse and buggy to get around.
When you needed your plumbing fixed, you broke out your tools and fixed it.
When you needed your electric fixed, you broke out your tools and fixed it.
When you needed your car (or buggy) fixed, you broke out your tools and fixed it.
You needed to learn how to do for yourself, that is what is known as common sense.

One of my fathers favorite stories was about my great grandfather, he even did his own dental work! Now that is further than I am willing to go!

Now a days, everyone calls someone else to fix their problems thus never gaining that common sense.

I am so grateful to my father for teaching me how to do most of my own work and teaching me common sense.
I hope my son is learning that from me.

I have in fact pulled one of my own molars. I don't suggest that ya do this at home, but I did use as much common sense as I had to work with.

I devised a pliar with leather pads so that the tooth wouldn't shatter half way through the procedure. I loosened the tooth as much a possible before gettin busy, and I applied a exactly the right dose of Vodka to the affected area, my belly and my brain to give me courage, anesthetic, and attitude, to complete the procedure.

It's sad, but most folks with no money, probably have more common sense than those who do. jd

I worked with a Russian immigrant who pulled his own teeth. His daughter even worked for a dentist. He worked them out with a string and washed it out with milk. He did break the last one off and she had to come to the rescue. We dont realise how easy we have it.

Joe, You gotta live in Delaware to find out why the bleach is needed. When I lived in PA I never used anything other then my pressure washer. Here, without the bleach you would be cleaning once a month. I didn`t know retirement would be so rewarding. Happy Sunday Jeff

I like the guy who said,

"I'm so used to doing so much with so little for so long, that I'm now qualified to to anything with nothing. (bumper sticker)

Ya just can't do that without common sense. jd

Your average Joe is below average. If you have a county recycle drop off like we do, take a peek in the "corrugated cardboard" only or "#2 plastic only" bin. The amount of crap in there makes me just shake my head. Then the goobers get all aghast when the county announces the whole dumpster goes to the landfill because of contamination!

Here in Kingman, AZ we saw the same thing, plastic in cardboard, paper, etc. The residents are mostly retread Californians and just must not know the difference. The county finally pulled all the recycle bins and did away with recycling completely- now everything goes to the dump. Hard to figure out which group is lower on the Darwin scale.

here in the northeast old guys dont show the kids nothing. they move to florida to play golf. being that most parents are useless and most kids raised by just a woman they have to bring back shop classes to schools. wood metal welding body work plumbing etc. of course that will not happen cause only suicidal policies are enacted

It’s combining with all those exhaust fumes from the C130s flying overhead.

You got that right. I leave 2 miles straight shot from Dover AFB. It`s like an air show here some days. C130,C5,C17s ,then throw in a couple of Osprey helos it`s no wonder the siding and roof stain. I always wear a boonie hat outside, never know what might be dumped. Jeff

About a month ago,I took a stack of shot up cardboard targets to the recycle site. I sitting in my car waiting for some guy ahead of me blocking both lanes. I see him putting bottles ,newspapers and other junk in the CARDBOARD ONLY dumpster. So I get out and mention he used the wrong dumpster. To which he promptly told me to go to H___. He slammed his trunk lid down and low and behold Biden and Coons stickers all over it.So I said I`m sorry I understand know, you know it all. Jeff

Pulling teeth? I couldn't help to think about this old tv show.. Skip to 235 minutes for the tooth pulling. My oh my history seems to repeat itself..

joshb, We try to get rid of them ASAP,but Lowe`s doesn`t restock the lime fast enough. May have to drop the bridge up at the canal,to eliminate further migration. Jeff
