Earnie, it looks like the 3/4 with bag would do fine. As I understand the ears do open up some as they go up if so this would work ok. At 3/4 inch it looks like the stock would Not ride on the bottom of the rest?????? If that be the case it may be best to get one made with a .850 opening the base. You would have the experience to know this. I am ready to order the one that you recommend.

What size SEB rear bag do I need for this Savage FClass stock?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

This is an older thread, but I wanted to give some input.

I just got my SEB bag yesterday, and it is great. I need to get it to the range to test it out, but I can say that it fits my thumbhole Savage perfectly, and the overall quality is great.

I emailed Seb to get his answer, but got a short email from him that there has been a death in the family, and that he would not have to respond for awhile.

In addition, our rear bag is designed for use with joystick rest, or rest w/ windage top. Our bags have extra wide body & not easily deflected, not suitable for bag squeezing.

Seb rear bags are suitable only for F-Open?
So there is no squeezable Seb rear bag?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

I started this thread; I shoot only F-TR, no interest in F-Open. I have the SEB bag and I was using it this past weekend while flinging jacketed lead at a paper target 3000 feet away.

I don't squeeze the bag at all and I play only with the ears for minute adjustments.

Not really. Especially after we have the new/gen-3 JOYpods.

I would say yes.
Our bag body is about 6" wide, not suitable (too wide) for bag squeezing.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Would someone post a picture of how the bag should ride in the ears. I've heard on top of the bag between the stiches and above the stitches in the ears themselves. I shoot tr and fight my bag constantly. I am curently having a rider made for the rear of my stock that will be 5/8" wide. Which bag model do most F/tr shooters use?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

here's my bag, I'll try to get a better angle later, but you can kind of see, the stock rides between the ears, but is riding the top of the bag, it is not supported underneath by the ears.

Here's my setup with the bipod attached.

Nice setup! How are you liking that new j-pod? I have one on order I was hoping to get mine soon. But interested to hear how you like it?

It just came in and so I missed using it this past weekend at the monthly match. I will be using it at the match next month. It installs solidly and the position adjustment works very well once the rifle is on it; very positive and it remains were you leave it. I will be playing with it on the floor over the next little while trying to get a feel for it before the match.

Nice! Congrats on getting that and that awesome setup you have there. I hope I can make it back out there in the next month or two. However currently dealing with some nagging injuries that I dont think would be a good idea to try and shoot at this point. Good luck with it! I hope to see if you share a write up about this j-pod!
