I'm now using a SEB rear bag (With bipod to match)

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Bayou shooter, wasn't comparing your two pics just commenting that the SEB bag and the Bald Eagle bag (no pic) look real similar with the micro-fiber and hand tote. not saying they are. Sorry for the distraction, my apologies.

SEB does make bags for the Grizzly owned Bald Eagle. However the "old" Bald Eagle bags from the original owners were totally different to the Seb bag.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

He does for both the Standard Rear Bag and for the Bigfoot Rear Bag.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

I am looking for a rear bag for my target shooting. It needs to be light so It can be carried on long halls on foot. Any suggestions?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

What would you consider light?
What kind/type of target needs?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

I shot from a verity of sefaces. Bench dirt snow sand Ect. Light to me is like a bag of Skittls. Lol.
I don't mind if my gun is heavy. It's hen all the extras add up to kore weight.

Sorry if this is vaige. On my phone now.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Fill your bag with corn cob media.
Still not quite as light as a bag of Skiddles, but leave your Skiddles at home when you go shoot... ;D

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Drat my sweet tooth is killing me now ;D

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

You could always fill your bag with Skittles, then they will serve at least two purposes 8)

Ernie, does SEB make the current Bald Eagle bag with the micro-fiber?

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Ernie, how do I go about ordering one of the rear bags, and how do I determine which with bag do I need??????

I emailed Seb to get his answer, but got a short email from him that there has been a death in the family, and that he would not have to respond for awhile.

Paul,
Do you have anyone near you who competes?
If so, they would be the best source to help determine what spacing you would want.
One rifle or multiple rifles?
Is the bottom of your stock(s) flat or rounded?
You will want to measure the width of your stock at the bottom where the ears will be making contact.
Most stocks use either a 3/8" spacing or 1/2", but stocks are getting wider and wider now, so that is not a given by any means.

Hi Earnie, thanks for the response, I am a high master sling shooter, I am fastenated by the Fclass system. I recently purchased a Farley front rest and need a good rear bag. My stock has a 3 inch flat front section and it has a flat rear straight back at the bottom it measures .850 and gradually gets bigger as it goes up the stock. Hope that helps, let me know if you need any additional information.

Paul,
Best thing now is to pick the spacing you want-We do custom widths.
What is the width at it's widest point?

Hi Ernie I took some measurements of the stock, it has a standard pistol grip, it is slightly larger than the remaining stock at the base, it measures 1.442 and extends for about 1.800 inches as the stock tapers up to the cheek area the widest part is
1.681. The stock is equipped with an adjustable cheek rest and the locking nuts for the rest are 2.010 inches from the base. Hope this gives sufficient information if not let me know.

I couldn't reply to the OP sooner, I was in Phoenix at the Berger SW Nationals. I have been using a SEB Bigfoot for the last year. I love it and really believe it raised my scores. Of course my SEB NEO didn't hurt either.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Paul,
From what I am understanding, the width of the bottom of your stock (Flat part) is .850.
Does that width at the bottom of the stock stay constant in the area where your rear bag would be?
If so, I would go with a rear bag that is .850 or just so slightly wider.

Several guys who have responded on this thread are very accomplished shooters. You might ask them what they would order in terms of width as well.

Re: I'm now using a SEB rear bag (Now with pictures.)

Let me response to this thread / some of the posts...:

- To the original OP (Denys), thanks for using the SEB rear bag! and for your kind words.

- Re: Bald Eagle bag. Mr. Shiraz Balolia agreed that the same material will be used on the ears on the new Bald Eagle bags when he was ordering the bags last year. So yes, the new front & rear Bald Eagle bags are made in Indonesia/ by seb --- Buy these bags with confidence!

- To Fergus, actually we also make suede 'donut' for our regular rear bag & the bigfoot bag, just not in bulk.

- To Paul, does your stock (the flat-bottom part that rides on the bag/ears) parallel from the back to the bottom of the grip, same 0.85" wide?
If so, you could use the 3/4" spacing, or we can make you a bag with .85" spacing.
Only for info, on our rear bags (either the regular or the large/bigfoot bag) your stock will ride on the bag body, not on the ears. Again on our bags, the stock will not make contact with the stitching (we add a layer of soft "foam" in the spacing/under the microfiber) -- that is why even the spacing between the ears is...say one or three inches wide, the stitching on our bags are only one row on each side (on the sides only).
In addition, our rear bag is designed for use with joystick rest, or rest w/ windage top. Our bags have extra wide body & not easily deflected, not suitable for bag squeezing.
