In our particular case we were 4000 ft.² and inside a brick building with zero windows but I do understand what you are saying. But I don’t think there’s any excuse no matter what the layout for gun safety not being first priority, anything else is just being lazy. It’s a store culture issue and it starts at the top and if the store owner or store management isn’t practicing good and safe gun handling and enforcing it with their customers then you can’t expect it to ever get better on its own. Those are the stores that I avoid at all cost because you can tell the minute you walk in the door where their priorities are.The layouts of some stores almost prohibit this though, rows and rows of guns, and everyone needs to aim out the front window. Having all firearms in cases or behind counters is sometimes not doable.
