I'm getting my first AR

This is what he has to show me.
Top 18" Barrel
2nd down- Springfield Saint 16"
3rd down 14.5" pinned
4th down 14.5" pinned

Gas system length can make it softer to shoot. Mid length gas in a 14.5"-16" or rifle length gas on 18"-20" very nice. Carbine length gas systems are not my favorite.

A lot of good points have been brought up about the AR, after retiring from the Army and swearing to never own own, I relented in 2104 and bought the M4 Version. It's not the A2 I carried in the second half of my career, nor the A1 I carried in the first. You guys bring up a lot of specifics that show the versatility of the platform that we once called Mattel Toys. I have one lower and two different uppers, that to me is a big selling point. If you have limited resources, this is the way to go, an Upper for home defense or Personal defense in a vehicle even in a Pistol Caliber then an upper for longer range shooting or possibly hunting. Just my thoughts with out too many specifics to muddy the water.

Thats exactly what I thought I'd do. 1 Hunting, 1 home defence.
