Idea/suggestion for site

I’m usually not in a hurry and I like the ability to post an item for sale at a price that I think is fair and just wait for the right buyer. If you are not in a hurry and your price is reasonable, it will sell eventually. I have sold several items that I had listed 6 months to a year earlier. When the buyer asked if I still had the item, I would have to go hunt for it because I couldn’t remember.

And if your post was purged nobody would know you ever had one for sale. Ive bought stuff that was listed years earlier. Just found thru a search of something i was looking for.

What's cool in a weird trippy kind of way is Google a topic and a Accurate shooter link pops up. As your reading along you see yourself in a thread discussing whatever you were questioning or answering.

OTOH when I click on "View this thread" in an email notification, this site is flagged as suspicious by malware detection, being on some list somewhere. I can override it, but the only other sites which are flagged like this also happen to be, let's just say, "politically nonconforming". Anyone else experiencing this?

What does everyone think of the forum automatically deleting all posts over a certain age? For example, anything over two years old. It would free up resources. Many posts are repeats anyway. People don't research past posts. When I tried researching past posts I found it unsuccessful. Just a thought.

Another angle. Didn't the Boss and team just bust his butt converting the entire postings database over to the new software? Having done a few of those overnighters in years past, the last thing you want to hear is "Oh we really didn't need it all. You can delete 98% of it now".

I think this forum is amazing just the way it is. My only bitch is that when trying to "search" for something in the archives, there is no way to "sort" the results (or at least not that I have found - could be me) to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Bytes of data are dirt cheap to store. Keep them...
