What powder are you using?I have built two 6.5 PRC's, the 1st one had a 28" barrel, running 140 Bergers at 3200.
The 2nd one had no problems running 140 Bergers at 3100 in a 24" barrel.
Yes, it's the VG version of the Stockys carbon stock. Is the stock on the rifle pictured a Stockys carbon fiber. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas.

6.5x47 is like creed in terms of energy down range. why did you take that decision?R-26
I ended up selling both and decided to stick to my 6.5x47, opposite of what the OP is contemplating.
My observations in terms of velocity are more consistent with yours. H1000 as well as N565 will make velocities around ~3100 without exceeding book max out of a 24 inch Shilen using the 143 ELDX.I have built two 6.5 PRC's, the 1st one had a 28" barrel, running 140 Bergers at 3200.

Exactly, Nosler shows 3113 with the 140 in a 26" tube, Hornady is at 3150 with 140 in 26" tooMy observations in terms of velocity are more consistent with yours. H1000 as well as N565 will make velocities around ~3100 without exceeding book max out of a 24 inch Shilen using the 143 ELDX.
2900 seems low and must be a very mild load.
