I think an apology is appropriate.

I made some remarks the other day regarding match rules, formats, and organizations that were really out of line. I have been thinking of what I said and its really bothering me. Some of it was off base as well as rude. And served no purpose in that format. Thats not how you discuss ideas, its how you drive them off and it simply was not a good look for the sport. We all can get passionate but I crossed the line in my opinion. I am sorry for that.

Alex if those are your honest opinions and you stand behind them there is NO reason to apologize. A question was asked and you answered, simple enough.
This is what I think. Everything does not have to be sugar coated, at least, the way that I was raised.

My son just telephoned me and ask me a question for one of his friends having some child custody problems. He said, “I told him I was going to call and ask you because I know you were gong to tell it to me straight. You always do with me.”

Too bad many in his generation confuse directness with rudeness. Alex, I know you been around long enough to know the difference. So, were you rude or direct?

I could have done it in a productive way without being rude. And without saying stupid stuff when your mad. And there was no real point to bring it up on here anyhow.
I’ve never seen anything wrong with your posts I’ve learned a lot from your knowledge I would like to say thank you for what you share with us

I understand your apology and I commend you for it. Having said that, I also understand your frustration with "rule making". I want to say UP FRONT that I am not a "history guru" about F-Class even though that is what I shoot, although I shoot F-Open, not F-T/R.. From what I understand it started out as a way for the "older" shooter who shot "sling / palma" who still wanted to shoot but was greatly handicapped health-wise. So, from what I understand they could use a bi-pod and a scope to allow them to continue to compete. Once it was a recognized discipline, everyone who wanted to shoot that way got involved! GREAT! However, the "rule" of having a bi-pod originally meant some kind of bi-pod similar in design to the "old" Harris. But ideas, innovation and perceived need, drove the "bi-pod rule" to something that nobody would have envisioned. Now the RULES are made for something never intended in the first place. Ditto for several rules in F-Open. Without many of those rules, things would get out of control. Many of the rules I can understand and agree with >>>> BUT some I see no apparent "need / use" for. Getting upset and railing against something that makes little to no difference, does no good anyhow. So, I keep my peace.

Having said all that, I can understand your frustration. However, recognizing the futility of that and apologizing for certain behavior is the mark of a disciplined gentleman and my hat is off to you.

UH OH. I was a part of that thread as well. I saw no ill will in anything you posted and I tried very hard to keep my difference of option with one member on a general and civil basis. I come from the generation and part of the country that really knows what "bless your heart" means. ;)
I will say this. When a Newbie shows up make sure he is welcomed and knows his presence is appreciated. If he asks questions answer them without holding back. If he doesn't ask questions then ask him why he isn't. This LR bench rest game can be imposing from a new shooter's perspective and making them feel like no one cares just makes it worse.
It doesn't matter about the rules or the organization if the grassroots shooters don't do this.

Personally, I think it's the air quality you have suffered moving from Dillon to Florida (Insert clown emoji here).
Seriously, as someone who contributes so much here Alex, I feel you are saying what many believe needs to be said. You have, as they say; "Been there, done that, got the T-shirt...".

It generally takes passion to accomplish things. If you have a lot of passion, sooner or later it will get the best of you... on the other hand, your contributions to the sport come from the same passion and have done great things for fellow shooters!
