I still have my Remington Nylon 66.

About 1962 or so my dad and I were driving down a dirt road South of my home town back in Wisconsin. I was ~13 and dad would let me practice driving on the back roads. I saw something shiny in the ditch. We stopped. I went back and picked up a almost new Nylon 66 Apache Black. Put an ad in the local paper lost & found. Nobody claimed it. Shot a lot of squirrels with that gun. When I was gone in the Navy, my little brother allowed as it was now his. Never saw it again. About 5 years ago i picked up a almost new Mohawk Brown 66 in the original box, owners manual and factory scope. My bud had taken it for partial payment at his Harley shop. I got it for $250.

I remember driving a 1957 VW bug with the oval rear window to high school. The ball joints were so shot that when you turned left, the wheels flopped right and turning right would cause them to flop back. My father borrowed it one day and blew up the motor. He gave the car to a friend of his. We were pissed.

I'm with you on the Pick up trucks. I love mine, can't be without one. I have a Ram 1500. It's a '13, only 68k miles on it. It's my daily driver. I retired in '18, so I don't drive to work anymore.
Nice bike you described. Sorry about your knees. I bet you miss riding.

I miss riding big time. I would ride all 12 months, all ways found at least one day in winter months to take a ride.
My current 08 F150 has 42500 on it and is just starting to get a rust spot on it. Like you I'm retired and if I have no where to go I stay home, keeps me out of trouble.

In 1967 my dad bought me a new VW Beatle. No A/C. I think it was around $1,300! I bought an oversized carb jet from a JC Whitney catalog for 77 cents. It would get second gear rubber! Thought I was big shit. I traded it in for a 1968 Nova 2 door with a 307 and 3speed on the column. Thought I was bigger shit, lol. Those were such grand days.......

I remember asking for 500 22 shells and several boxes of 410 for my birthday and for Christmas. I got one 50 round box of 22 and 1 box of 410, and enough socks and underwear for three kids. Every Year!!! Pissed me off then, and is probably why I have thousands of shotgun shells loaded and have not fired one in five years at least! I hardly wear socks and I ain't telling bout underwear!!!

I do recall waking up in a canvas pup tent in an old overgrown lot that was going to "someday" be a subdivision. My dad had suffered a sleepless night to take me "camping" and a nearby rooster ended any hope of sleeping past the pink of dawn. I'm sure he didnt' look at that night of adventure as I did, and do. One of my favorite memories of him. He;s been gone now 11 years. And the subdivision wet in 35-40 years ago. I'm feeling a bit older myself these days.

At 73 I don't have to remember riding, my 2013 Triumph Trophy 1215 SE went to North Carolina on the Labor Day weekend with other Trophies from all over the country and rode some great less traveled roads at speed and had a ball! We have a few get togethers a year in different fun to ride places. "Twisted Trophies International" is the best no rules bunch around. Well, there is one rule, you have to meet another "Twisted Trophies International" member on your Trophy and you're automatically elligible. Long ways from my little early '60's Honda 50.

I sure remember the big Bliz, I worked for 20 days ,16 hours a day until we had all the customers power back on.It was just as bad in `93. I don`t miss it. Jeff

The 93 Bliz sucked down South to. My son was a newborn. My ex and I lost power in the single wide we rented. She panicked, so I drove through a white out to her parents. Baby had an eye infection so we finally got a Pharmacy 10 miles out that was opened and ordered some sulpha drops. My ex FIL and I drove to the Rx the next day in my 88 Bronco 2. I started seeing these odd things at the side of the road and realized they were the tops of mailboxes. Never seen a snow like that since.

I had a 21 window '67 bus. Bought it in 1974 here in Washington state when I was in the Navy. Made some mods so I could use it as a camper for Steelhead fishing. Got out of the canoe club and moved back to Wisconsin. Great party vehicle. Excellent in the snow. I could drive out on a lake through up to a foot of snow or so and go ice fishing. If it was below zero, we could sit in the side door opening with a Coleman lantern going and maybe a little blackberry brandy. We were actually comfortable. Unfortunately, when I moved back to Washington, before I could go back & get my bus my first ex sold it for $500. AAaaarrrgggh! That was 1982 and I'm still irritated, I need to stop watching the Mecum and BJ auctions.
