I really need some advice

I was working on a new load and shot this group. I’m really concerned about the horizontal and vertical stringing.

I put out wind flags but they were really hard to read. It’s an indoor range and when someone opened the door to come in, I think I saw one flag move a little. Could that be the problem?

Anyway, here’s my first try.

I ran home and loaded 5 more but this time took 1 single kernel of powder out of the final charge and then I ended up with this group. I think the vertical is better but the horizontal is not.

I ran back home and this time I took some Flitz and honed the neck bushing to increase the diameter by 0.0000001”, or there abouts. Loaded up 5 more and completely ruined the vertical but the horizontal is better, I think.

So I ran back home to try something else but I forgot what I changed, or, maybe I changed 2 things. I can't remember. I’m tired and breathing hard from all the running back and forth so I let some sand out of my rear bag. It didn’t seem to help even though I read somewhere that it does.

I’m at my wits end. Any help will be appreciated.

I guess the Admins don't have a monopoly on this kind of thing today. I know you fibbed about the exercise:p

While these guys are not providing any help what so ever. I am taking your concerns seriously, my suggestion are as follows.

Step 1
Move to a less recoiling caliber

.17-50BMG AI

Step 2
Remove all human error from testing
The use of a lanyard has always proven effective in my test that i have never conducted.

Step 3 aiming it seems by the POI shift your not aiming your scope.

Solution move to a March 100X scope it proved to be almost non existent in my personal load developement

Step 4
Weighting each grain of sand in my bags. Has proven to the most agian in accuracy. After setting them aside i use a bipod and a gym sock filled with rice. For intial testing of loads.

Step 5

Go to the nearest fridge and grab a case of beer. And have a happy day and try to remember if its on the internet its true.

Wind flags!!!!!! You need more wind flags!!!!! And then you need to go somewhere besides here to take lessons on just how to read them, because it is black magic. I had a rifle that shot that bad once...I bought an entire case, a full metric schidt ton of wind flags and that solved the problem!!!!!!!!!!! I never did learn to read them, just owning the things straightened that rifle right out!!!!!

Holy crap! This is a case for the Voo-Doo chicken bones if I ever saw one! Search venders in New Orleans, perhaps they have some on hand, otherwise they will have to come from off-shore. Hati, perhaps. Good luck!

Hey, I have a patent on chicken bones! No bushing work without a Sweet Bay Rays chicken bone and JB paste! I think the issue is the solar calendar...today being the day of days.
