I need a bullet puller

i highly recommend the hornady puller. one you have it dialed in you can quickly pull the bullets with little to no damage.

I needed to pull a couple of bullets recently but didn't have anything to pull them. I took a pair of pliers, used a dremel to make a concave channel in the jaws, coated the jaws with plastic dip then used the pliers. Run the case up through the press, grab the bullet with the pliers, lower the ram. No damage to the bullet that I could detect.

I plan to get a grip-n-pull on my next supply order. Until then I will use the pliers.

I have an rcbs puller which sucks in the forster but jamming an allen wrench in the side buy the lock ring takes up the slack and stops it from spinning, works alright but the hornady pullet looks so much easier.

I've had an RCBS collet for decades - from back when it was the only one available here - and I hate it. You need three hands -
  • one to lever the bullet into position
  • one to hold the sleeve (?body)
  • one to turn the lock lever
I saw one of the cam lock ones a while back & wished they were around when I bought mine.
.
You must be using it incorrectly. I have never had to hold the puller body. I lock it down and it stays put, then you only need to tighten the collet on the bullet by using the handle.
