I have owls in my deer blind... what did I do????

Bird and Bat droppings carry over 60 different types of diseases. Here's a link for clean-up. Never sweep it dry, you'll cause the spores to go airborne for inhalation. This goes for rats and mice droppings as well as their dried urine. I just recently had to give a class to my employees since we have such an infestation of Starlings in our hangar and helicopters. It pays to take precaution with this nasty stuff !! Also, certain chemicals react to the droppings and make it far worse.

I hunted a place just east of Laredo a few years. One of the high stands was called the, owl blind. There were 1000s of tiny bones on the floor of the blind. I would pass the time trying to assemble a rat skeleton. Missed a chance at a good deer once because I was more intent on bone selection than hunting.

In May, I noticed that there were owls flying out of one of our deer blinds. I decided to go check it out. Turns out it was a nesting pair, an they had 1 egg laying there. I decided to place a game cam on the inside to track their progress. I still had the setting to take a picture every 5 minutes all day and all night. After about a month in the blind, I returned and I had 6,000 pictures taken. Thank goodness I use he Moultrie cameras with the external solar battery packs. Here are some of the pics I received. To date I have over 15,000 pics. I have been posting pictures on my facebook account for my friends, and several teachers ask me to create a public facebook page with the pics so that they could use it in the class room for teaching purposes. Thought I might share a few pics with you guys too.

Cool pics. New box would be best. These will help control the rodents from stealing at the feeder.

+1 on this. When I worked at the steel mill we had loads of pigeons in the roof supports. One of my co-workers was running a lathe turning down a mill roll that was covered with pigeon dung. He wound up getting histoplasmosis from breathing the dust and was out of work for a couple weeks. I would wear a mask and wet it down first.

EASY CLEAN UP WHEN THE OWLS LEAVE IT LEAVES GALLON OF GAS AND A BOOK OF MATCHES !!!!!!!!

Unfortunately this was man caused. It was a mistake, but man caused non the less. In this area we don't have food plots. The soil isn't good enough, however it burned about 1500 acres and went right through 2 feeder pens. We have had tons of rain, and everything is the greenest it has been in 10 years. But we have gone 2 weeks with no rain, and it was just dry enough to get started. It was a humid and no wind kinda night, so the fire was easily contained. Sad thing is that it flaed back up twice. The last time it did, the Corp of Engineers brought the big equipment out, and cut some 2 lane high way fire breaks, and let it burn itself out. That did the trick.
Pics from this same game cam show nice deer back in the pen just 2 night later.
