I found primers! No thanks

I agree with almost everything you just said. I’ve lived through several shortages!…. When Bush was about done I bought thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of components, when Obammy got out I did it again and really I’ve never stopped!… I’m not short on primers at all but if I was and I wanted to shoot I would pay the price and wouldn’t think twice about it.

Honestly here in central Texas Wayne I have seen very very few primers or decent powder on any shelves even if you had the money to buy them... It's still pretty horrible here or iam doing something wrong.... I wish I would have bought even more stuff but how much is enough..???? I certainly don't shoot rifle like alot of the people here but I do shoot alot of pistol training still or shotgun for skeet.... Now pistol prices are going down and shotgun stuff is skyrocketing here it's crazy.... I really enjoyed shooting skeet with the fellows at the club but unfortunately I won't pay $400 a sleeve for cheddite primers and $56 a bag of shot so I am backing my shooting way down.... I am going to be moving around January back down south and I think I can keep going till then but there's a limit on how low I will let my stuff get and it's breaking my heart thinking about it...

I hope I can find a bigger place to hunt on or even just shoot on but that depends on many factors like my health etc at the time.... I may not be able to take care of the place , it kills my trying to keep up my 5 acre place now especially since it's hitting the 100 degree mark already this year.... Shooting is zen for alot of people and I really hope this crap passes soon so everyone can get back to living and doing the things they like without it killing their wallets... It's about 70 miles round trip to my range so when you add up gas and ammo plus whatever else drinks etc it's getting expensive for me just like for everyone else.... It's really depressing but it too will pass it's just when I guess...

Good shooting...

I bought a few thousand small rifle primers and a thousand small pistol at these higher prices. Now I have enough to get me thru to next summer, maybe longer. I expect (hope? ) that prices will be lower by then. I’m not buying 5-10 thousand at these prices. Maybe I’m being too optimistic. We’ll see.
Dude I haven't really seen primers anywhere especially shotgun and small pistol.... I do see small rifle occasionally but at around $90 a K and I have well I don't want to say enough but enough to hold me for awhile simply because I don't shoot alot of rifle.... I do though normally shoot a case of shotshells a week and that's stuff has disappeared unless you want to pay $400 for a sleeve of cheddite primers and $56 a bag for shot which I won't so I have cut WAY back.... What makes me mad is if I said my new hobby is shooting sling shots they would ban them in a week....

I built an archery lane on my property and bought a new bow and started shooting that.... I could have bought a nice hunting rifle with a Leupold on it for what a bow and arrows etc cost and it's not even a top of the line one... But so far it's been fun learning , I haven't shot a bow since I was a kid and they didn't have bows like this then...

I have about 3000 acres to shoot and hunt on with my loading room sitting on my range so I’m pretty lucky in that aspect when I’m working up loads I can load one at a time or three or whatever I want step out the door sit down and shoot. As far as primers Obammy made it impossible for the small sawmill to make it so in 09 I went to work at CCI Speer I bought stuff from the company store every week but it was difficult even working there, I went back to the sawmill when it reopened in 15 so I don’t have that luxury anymore for buying components, but it doesn’t matter I live right where there made and other than pistol which I shoot very little of no primers to be had here either. When I say I have a lot of primers that’s a understatement but if I saw 215m or br4’s or 450’s on the shelf I would buy as many as they would allow up until my credit limit stopped me lol

My local gun shop that carries reloading supplies finally got in some primers. They were the place that I purchased the last cci 450 primers approximately 2 years ago at $38.00 for 1k. Well I was pretty excited until I asked how much. $14.99 per 100. They did tell me I could purchase 1000 if I would like.
You either need them or you don't.

3000 acres , man I wish I could go that big.... Unfortunately I will only be able to pick up something in the 10/40 acre plot.... I had a pretty nice place here but in 2011 we had a huge fire so I am missing 250 trees now and it's booming here so I now have , well surrounded by neighbors.... Not exactly what we had in mind when we bought.... My wife officially retires in December so after that away we go.... I don't know we're but away from here.... ( Outside Austin TX )..... One thing that may stop me from buying a big place is I have had two heart attacks in the last couple of years and I can't work like I used to..... Well any way your lucky to have a nice place , there disappearing daily..... I am jealous......

Have a great day....

I feel everyone's pain when it comes to prices, fortunately my friend and shooting buddy owns a gun shop so when he gets things in, there are 4 of us that get first dibs on components, usually at his cost or slightly over.
He is still paying outrageous prices from the distributors. (don't hate me)

Little off topic but funny : Yesterday I'm doing Brass laundry and I've got ultrasonic going as well as the pin tumbler , So after a few hours of loading and unloading the tubs ,changing water ,rinsing and altering cleaning solutions ; I'm doing a final rinse . There's a unfired primer in the brass batch .

OK it more than likely fell into an open box of fired shells and I didn't see it and got washed but Good .

So I set it aside and after drying My brass picked it up looked at it all shiny and clean ,decided to load it went out back pulled the trigger and BANG !. Yep Winchester SP primer after washing in the pin tumbler for an hour ,dried it out and it went off :) Why are we always so careful with them and fret if we touch them wrong !!.

I don't mind for the short-term elevated prices. It dissuades the hoarders and flippers. But for long this has been going on, and the prices I'm seeing, leaves me concerned.

What's disturbing or most certainly should be to ALL of us shooters is ; Lack of primers available !.

IF people Like us ,keep purchasing components at higher prices ,it simply plays into manufacturers hands !.
They produce less say half of what they normally would ,then charge #4-5 times normal cost ,it's a WIN WIN for them and a HUGE loss for us .

I don't know of any hoarders who are paying $625.00 per 5K Unis Ginex Primers in mass quantities anyway .

Where are Winchester , CCI, Federal , Remington , Sellier Bellot , RUAG , AmmoTerra ,Wolf ,Fiocchi

The first #3 are owned by Vista Outdoors and that SMELLS IMO !. Something sinister is afoot ,because the other manufacturers KNOW what prices are and WHY aren't they shipping Freighter's full of Primer containers ?. Somewhere at the top of this F'd up administration the puppet master is deliberately shorting nearly everything coming into OUR Country !.

No one is going to sell Me on that BS story their all going into ammunition , I call BULLSHIT !.

Gotta love "Capitalism" I guess ... I paid almost that much for Federal 215's at Outdoor Limited a few weeks ago. Ordered 2,000 of 'em and got the pain over with in one purchase. I don't have to like the price, to need the supplies.
Is that place legit? What was your experience, because I have seen a lot of bad reviews.
