I can’t believe a medical provider asked about guns in my house

Now...perhaps...but it is always what people in absolute power will do...would you say it would be an easy thing to get the data base, sort by answer yes, and within seconds come up with a list of gun owners. And then ... just "for discussions sake " cause this could never happen - in a blue state with one of these red flag laws someone just starts dropping anonymous alerts about so and so who may be a danger to themselves or others, and so umm...but yeah you are right...crazy to think such things
Well there is no database. We still have to get records faxed one patient at a time.

Huh? My doc sits there typing in answers as he asks these questions. I can go online and access my medical records, as can many others theirs. My doc doesn't ask me for my password to look up my records when I visit. That information goes to storage somewhere. Now in the best of times, of course nobody is gonna be able to access anybody's PHI right? HIPPA ensures that right? (rolls eyes) But were not talking the best of times where everybody plays nice. Were talking about blackmail, bribing, leaking, etc... you know things that corrupt and evil men and women do to grab power, and control people to retain it. But yeah, that type of thing is 3rd world banana republic kook stuff right? I mean it would be crazy to think that in America someone could stay in power for 50+ years and accumulate files on people who could do favors for him or cause him harm. Wait a minute.....

And then there is always the option to get the Covid Shot:

https://news.mit.edu/2019/storing-vaccine-history-skin-1218

From the article:

"Storage, access, and control of medical records is an important topic with many possible approaches,...
This study presents a novel approach where the medical record is stored and controlled by the patient within the patient’s skin in a minimally invasive and elegant way. The research was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Koch Institute"

But yeah right, nothing to see here

To make a point, I was in my Cardios office recently and he asked me if I had a blood test lately. I said sure,he asked if thru my Primary DR. and I said yes. Within 1 minute he had the whole read out report. Another point, wife was rearended a few years ago. Before she returned home the Insurance Co. for the guy that hit her called left message. She returned the call and during the discussion the rep. informed her of being treated for neck pain 10 years prior to the accident,by a chiropractor. No database; just good guessing? Jeff

Yes, individual health systems have records they can access. That’s not the same as what was implied above, that there is one entity who can access everything. I’m not going to talk anyone out of their paranoid delusions.

You forgot to include "conspiracy theory nut jobs" in your last sentence. What makes you think that
" individual health systems" couldn't be issued a directive / executive order / congress pass a a law ....to turn over records of anyone who answered yes? You know for the "greater good?" SMH I can't think of something like that ever happening in America right? Wait...uh...ooops

But I get it...it's moot really...the alphabet agencies have everything on us already.....I just don't like the idea of anybody asking me a lot of questions about stuff under the guise that it is top protect me and for my health.

Never forget the 2 top priorities of any and all medical providers and insurers. First, protecting themselves from any possible liability. Secondly, maximise profits. I have along term relationship with my physician. I think I know his political leanings. Oh yes, he is a gun collector. From my first regular 6 month checkup last year until the change in his demeanor concerning Covid, he was getting big-time pressure from the medical group he is in and I am sure for the govt watch dogs. When I raised an eyebrow his only comment was, I must do what I am doing to maintain my standard of living and income. I see him again in 2 weeks,, it is going to be interesting.

I like that you said medical providers and insurers. There are still many good Dr.s out there whose 1`st priority is their PATIENT. There are an increasing number who are standing against the increasing madness to the point it HAS cost them their standard of living, their income, even the loss of their credentials and license. Dr.s that dare speak against the COVID quackery were labeled same, marginalized. And now we find out how much BS was being spewed by FAUXchee. He publicly declared the lie of asymptomatic transmission while privately emailing colleagues there was very little chance. Might want to consider finding a new Dr.

In addition to gun ownership, Medicare also questions my sexual activity. Guess that is threatning as well.
