Hydrodipping recommendation

carlsbad

Lions don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
I have a guy who wants to get a shotgun hydrodipped. Any recommendations? Needs to be an FFL since he wants the entire gun dipped.

Most guns I have had dipped they requested I take them all apart. The place you gundip if they have a website should have lots of patterns available. It’s a cool process wish you luck

My 2¢, After perusing the web for local businesses that advertised they could the work, I gave up and did it myself. Having said that, I'd ask for references before sending a firearm to an entity with unknown
ability.

I did a couple plastic rifle stocks myself a couple years ago.. with a mydipkit..turned out pretty good.. but learned a lesson.. first one i did outside in a big tub.. takes hot water so that was a pain filling the tub with hot water.. and the wind gave me fits with the film you put in the water.. so the genius i am i decided to do the second one in the bath tub.. was told not to by the girlfriend but she was leaving for a couple hours.. soon as she left i filled the tub with hot water.. laid the film in the water and sprayed the activator on it.. dipped my stock.. submerged it and shook it around like your supposed to.. the film went all over the water.. stock came out a perfect camo.. after dipping you rinse the stock off right away.. so i pull the plug on the tub and take the stock out and spray it off with a garden hose and hang it up to dry.. patting myself on the back for how nice it looked.. lol.. thought i better go rinse the tub out and when i got in there i had camoed the entire bathtub.. lol.. and it didnt just rinse off.. now im in deep crap and half panicked.. the girlfriend would be home in a hour or so.. and thats how long it took me to clean the bathtub.. lots of scrubing with brilo pads and cleaners.. i got it clean just before she walked through the door.. will never do that again.. lol she said you didnt dip that in the tub did you.. im like nope...

I have had 3 companies do them and did not like the first two.It is very important to see the quality of their work before hand. When you see a very good painter remember there’s more to it than putting on the paint and then polishing it. What about the lines being true????
I had the best job done last by Boyz Hid (www.boyzhid.net) in Duncansville PA. 814-695-2929 by Ric Shue ( sp?) . Someone on the forum showed something he did and it impressed me. After contacting him I went with him and was VERY satisfied with his work. Check out the site.

I have had numerous things dipped by Rick at Boyz Hid. Ive known him since shortly after he got started. I've been really happy with everything he has done for me. Just remember he is busy.
