How you make gun buying decisions

I just saw a custom nNghthawk 1911.That was beautiful and a good price. But was just more than i'm willing to spend. To get a nighthawk right now would be a steal of a purchase.

For other guns , I'll spend whatever I need to get what I want. Like my Vudoo competition 22 rimfire. Same amount as that Nighthawk.

Performance definitely drives my purchases, but sometimes the best performance is just more than that.I'm willing to pay.

I think that mostly applies to handguns. I guess, I have a price max .I'm just not willing to go beyond. I got my Sig P211 GTO, but I think that's just the max I'll pay for a handgun.

But for rifles, PCC /SBR, and even full auto (back in the day) I'll pay more. Even then, that Vudoo was the max Iwas willing to pay.

So I guess my question is, am I weird or do other people make buying decisionsThe same way ?

This post makes me smile. This has came up in conversation lately with some of my friends. I'm not a person to haggle on a price. I have a amount I feel like I can afford and I'm pretty disciplined at staying there. I had been thinking about buying a used rifle for UBR for several years. A few weeks ago I felt like I should look at the classified (something I very seldom do) and bought a rifle. After receiving it, its better than I expected. I trust God. Usually there is obvious signs of yes or no for me.

Guns are like cars, they all do the same thing. Some are bigger than others. Do you need to carry an Abrams Tank across the country, or groceries across town?

Trust your judgement/experience/evidence.

Beware the man who owns but one gun, he may just know how to use it.

A person better have a plan. This world now will eat your sack lunch, don’t even think about paying for a gun with a credit card that you haven’t got cash for in your bank account.

I look for deals. If I REALLY want it, I’ll buy new from a gun shop I have a special relationship with. I have bought guns I don’t need just because they had a really good price on them.
I would never buy a rimfire gun that cost as much as a good center fire rifle. Maybe just me.
