How would a BR HG fare in a LR FC shooting format?

That there is any weight limit at all in a division named “Open” has always perplexed me.

The reason F-Open has a weight limit is that during the Canadian 2000 Nationals a committee of FC shooters got together and when the subject of weight came up I suggested we use the LR BR light rifle limit of 17lbs so the rifles could be used both for BR and FC. Others stated there were rifles on the line that were 25 lbs oR more and a compromise was reached of 10kg (about 22lb). The F/TR weight limit came up later in the decade.

I know, Larry, it’s just that I’ve got these 2” barrels in calibers like .375, .410 and .50.

Trouble is they weigh about 35 pounds, before I add the rifle.
