Thanks Walt- I will check them out.Shotmarker or Solo electronic targets are the way to go.
Ok boss - I will look into them —-thanksShotmarker works great, but a good Long Range camera is more versatile, it actually lets you see the visual shot on paper, and it can be used for any target, such as steel or reactive. We recommend the LR-3 TargetCam system from LongShot Cameras. It is very sharp, and works with smartphones and tablets. The real-world effective range is well beyond anything you'd likely ever shoot.

It seems I should be able to do something like that. ill check into it more. And you didn’t want that piece of steel? Mabie I should check the thread. ThanksIf you're handy, you can easily make an extended range Bluetooth antenna for any basic camera system that connects to a smart phone or tablet. I've measured close to 1 mile (direct line of sight) with a directional antenna.

I made a set up years ago . It cost about $200 with its own flat screen monitor .i need to get something to see each individual hole (6mm) as i am shooting to make these distances worthwhile shooting at to me. i know there have been plans around for target cams and there r some commercial models. what would be the best way to do this and/or device to use. thanks
OkI'll let you know more about the steel, im still hemming and hawing about what direction to go with it.
I looked into shot marker- it would be ideal in many ways and I could afford it, but I saw one a guy had at the range a few months ago. He had the mics on a large wooden frame (box) and my understanding is its best to have them at least 3 feet apart. I don’t wanna have to haul that big target frame out to range everytime I go shoot. I’ll check the solo thanks WaltShotmarker or Solo electronic targets are the way to go.
See my comments in reply to Walt. i like the shot marker in many ways. ThanksA camera might be more versatile, but a ShotMarker means you can literally shoot for days, and know where every single shot went, without ever going down range. You’ll also get rough velocity and SD readings for all shots, and the ability to pick out any number of shots, and see the group size, along with many other features.
I saw some threads you posted about this from back when as I was looking for info last nite. I’ll look them over some more. Thanks GaryI made a set up years ago . It cost about $200 with its own flat screen monitor .
It requires you to place a camera pointing at the target and a battery attached to it with a 25’ cable ( transmitter is with battery ) receiver and battery and monitor are near you . Usually on the table , battery can be located on the ground but receiver is best when located in line of sight with transmitter.
camera is adjustable for focus . Good to 1 mile but that’s under optimal conditions. The assembly requires some soldering or crimping , camera disassembly ( not nrcessary but helpful) . I had a list of parts from Amazon posted on this forum many years ago . Ive not used it in two years due to it not needed , our range is only 300 yds !
Good luck , Gary MacDonald
I don’t think the drone would work for me, inless it would hover there while I’m shooting, as I want to see each shot as I am shooting. With the drone I’d have to fly it down there after I shot. thanksI second the drone suggestion.
