how to remove the extractor from the bolt of a brmxd action

When I take them out I push the forward part of the extractor towards the center of the bolt. At the same time holding the plunger down with a pick. That pivots the bottom of the extractor out and the plunger is captured behind the extractor when it comes out.
Got to learn it sooner or later. Everyone should know how to swap of these small parts on their guns. Lots of guys would have been able to salvage a match if they had the extra parts and could change them quickly on the line. Triggers, firing pin assemblies, extractor, ejectors, bolt stops, ext. I have seen all of them fail at the worst time, and without a replacement handy you are screwed.

the good news is the extractors came today...thanks to the borden's!!
installation( watch the video!) is easy...
the bolt cycles in the action, a case with fit in the bolt face.
the bolt will NOT CLOSE on an empty case, nor will it extract the case.
gonna try a dummy round and see what happens.

Make sure the back end is all the way down in the bolt. If it is call Jim.

od seems ok, but the leading edge above the extractor lip appears to be high..i took a chisel to it and cut it down some...well not a chisel, but did trim it. the extractor does not appear to be going over the lip of the case( bolt is not forward enough when movement stops)

Put dykem all over the bolt nose/extractor and work the bolt as much as it will let you, Then pull it out, The dykem will be disturbed where the issue is.

naw..the bolt will close on the head space gauge
it will not close on a case( not go forward enough..stops at rim)
it will close on a case that is manually inserted in the bolt face and hand fed thru the back of the action.
the hs gauge is about .008 smaller in dia on the rim than an actual case.
how to convince the extractor to slide over a rim ??

Couple of issues Ive seen with Sako style extractors include.

The inner face of the extractor, which rests on the groove in the bolt, being too thin or an extractor for a 308 fitted to a mag bolt. This makes the the extractor lean in too far which causes the extractor to hit the rim of the case on the tip rather than making contact on the ramp and allowing it to ride up and over the rim.

Second one is the extractor contacting the barrel cone / rebate due to the extractor being too long or an out of spec cone / tennon.
