How to go about getting sponsorship

The range i shoot at wants to do an all f/class shoot next year. I have been put in charge of the whole thing. My question is how does one go about getting a major sponsor and maybe a couple smaller sponsors? Appreciate any and all help. Thanks.

You just email all the usual suspects. They’re used to it. Generally they are willing to provide prizes, some substantial. Seems like the bigger the company, the less generous the donations are.

They want to see a completed match flyer before considering a donation. I preferred the phone call over the email but you will still have to provide the evidence before they send you anything.
It’s very important to advertise for them since this is what they want in return. Some want the name of the recipient so write that down when presenting the prize.

Remember a simple rule: Sponsorship is about advertising.

If your sponsor isn't physically present at the match, great efforts should be undertaken to ensure that as many people as possible (and the sponsor) see the great sponsorship provided!

Use social media, and any other platform you can use to advertise your event both before and after. Be detailed about how the sponsor helped - new target frames, prizes, etc.. Post pictures of the winners with their prizes. Make certain that the winners especially, and anyone else willing sends a thank you card.

I think you should ask the guy that got Remington involved and how he did it..... jim

I remember when I was a Palma shooter and we had to accept f class shooters into our matches do you think that the same reciprocity should apply to an all F class match as well? Just wondering if a specific NRA rule apply’s? ...assuming this is a approved or registered match of course

Well it was a Palma shooter and the ex-president of the club that suggested I do this match.
We just recently held a mid range regional match and the fclass shooters out numbered the palms/sling shooters 2 to 1.
