How much powder is too much??

Remember going dealing with shortages twice in my lifetime as a handloader. Believing in a future commie victory in 2016, I upped my inventory. IMO none of the previous shortages were anywhere near this bad. Learned my lesson, stockpiled or hoarded, now I am still shooting regularly and will be for many years into the futire. Did not buy it to sell it or to profit on it. Have sold some at the price I paid for it and possibly took a small loss. Enjoy having friends around at the range. After Brandon, there was a small uptick in shooters at my club. Now it is getting pretty quiet. Twice this month, I have opened our club for regular trap and skeet shooting hours, only to spend the day reading old magazines. Just me and the crickets. Remember the days when a parking spot was hard to find. Wish I bought more bullets, but I can still wear out a couple of barrels. Was shocked by the prices for brass in the Daily Bulletin. New shooters you have my sympathy. Established shooters than did not plan ahead, that is the way the cookie crumbles. That reminds me, the local Piggly Wiggly is starting to have the air of Mother Russia. Went to my local meat market last week and could not buy a steak that day. Damn, there are holes in my plan also.

Since I'm a Grand Senior ; I can state that I have enough powder on hand , and access to more if needed , to load and shoot what I need for as Long as will be needed . But don't ask me about the Spam cans of Mil-surp . That's nobodies business but mine .

That's funny. I doubt there are many serious shooters that comply with that.
youre probably right but they should. mine is in also in a building away from my house.
I talked to someone at the state fire marshalls office. they told me there is a limit in a residence but not where i have it. like many things people get by with most will be okay, but as you know, if someones house burns down and they have an illegal amount of powder in there the insurance company will probably use that as excuse to refuse to pay the claim.

None of my powder or primers is stored in my house. I have an outbuilding with a cellar. The building is my reloading room and clearly has a sign stating, “No Girls Allowed”
so you have heat in there or does the cellar stay a decent temp without it?

Well it is more temp stable than a garage.. It stays about 40 in the winter and 60 in the summer.. I have everything in cheap Coleman coolers as well. I do also have a heater but realized it was going out due to using up all the oxygen. The sensor would shut it down.... lol..

I put spray foam insulation on some of the walls. Would have done the entire walls but a 1300 gallon water tank was in the way.. I use spray foam insulation works well. Luckily I used a portion that was left over from a building project.. Be sure to put tar or paint the exterior walls to keep moisture out..

thanks again for that info.
