Thanks for the rest of the story. We have all made similar mistakes and it is good that you stopped and asked questions and took the appropriate action. A lot of the advice you received here simply reinforced what you thought you should do once you discovered the mistake. It is confusing that the various manuals do not agree on what a max load is but I think we have somewhat covered the reasons for that in this thread and the basic advice of starting low and working up is still sound. I still think the beginner is mislead by some of the posts where the "experienced" reloader is living in the red zone. Best wishes.BULLET 05 said:Well guys thanks so much for all the help and safe advice. Being safe is what I want first and foremost. The reason I was asking was because I made a rookie mistake. I started at 24.6 gr and worked my way to 25 gr. The only problem was I loaded several rounds at 26 gr instead of 25gr. I had set my scales wrong by accident and did not catch the error right away. I went ahead and pulled the bullets and redone them. I did see a few reloading manuals today that had 25.4 to 26gr. I have a Nosler book that had 25gr. I too would just like to be safe so again thanks for the help and concern but I was just asking so I may save some time pulling bullets and dumping powder.
