How many firings

I have some Lapua Palma .308 that is overr 20 years old, lost count on how many times it has been loaded. At a guess I would say close to if not more than 50. I ran them hot and lost about 6 due to loose primer pockets. Never split a neck or had any seperations though. Depends on the manufacturer, how they are sized, how hot you are running, if they are annealed properly etc.

Get a primer pocket testing tool and a bent paperclip for internal exams and a lighted magnifying glass.

I wondering how many firings you guys get out of your brass before you may retire them. Do you let the brass tell you this by signs like loose primer pockets or visual signs like neck splitting. I usually anneal my brass after 3 firings. Thanks
I have about 20 reloads on my Lapua 6BR cases. The pockets still feel good. Only lost a couple cases do to neck cracks. That was before I annealed.

I rather doubt that.

Lapua didn't introduce .308 Palma brass until 2009.

Jerry Tierney was doing some testing prior to that, but I don't think it was generally available until 2009-2010.
I stand corrected, it is 14 or 15 year old brass then. Sitting here thinking about it 2008 was when I started shooting F class witha Savage FTR, so 2009 or 2010 would be the right timeframe. I have no idea of how many firings, but many for sure. Somewhere between 25 - 50 firings easy. It was annealed using a torch and socket for a couple of years then I upgraded to a Anealeze, although I have no idea what year I bought the Anealeze either. I have not shot it since I moved to the new house and that was 4 years ago so it has never been annealed on the AMP. I was also wrong about how many I have lost over the years, there are only 86 left
