I’m getting ready to build a 7 SAUM, and am wondering if the PRC will go that way soon.
PRC brass might be better in the future ?

My bet is Hornady will be releasing this sooner than later. They are not ones to miss an opportunity to market yet another redundant caliber in shiny red packaging to the easily duped masses, touting it's superior performance and ability to fit in a short action.
If I had to guess, they would neck down the 300 PRC case.
Wouldn't make any sense to neck up the 6.5
Interesting. What bullets/ velocities is he running? Barrel life??The 7-300 PRC is a hammer, have a friend building one right now. Not sure that a case that overbore is commercially viable for Hornady (7mm RUM sales never really took off, and the 28 Nosler controls that space from a hunting perspective).
It’ll eat my straight 300 PRC alive out to 1500 or so with 195s.

Ummmm, noooo......a 7 PRC on the 6.5 case is just a 284 win. 6.5 case necked up is 69.3 gr capacity Hornady case. lapua necked up for 284 is 68.5 gr.
I have both and would opt for your brass preference on which one. I wont do a 7 PRC until better brass comes along.
I am using a 29 1/4" barrel on the 300 PRC. With the 200 smk, 3100fps is still showing very little in the way of pressure signs. The 220 ELD-X is running 3053 fps, but I wouldn't go further with it. Both loads are shooting under 0.5 moa @600 ydsThe gun
He’s shooting for 195/3050 and hoping for 1500 round barrel life. Our local range only goes to 935 so this is plenty of heat and it’s still close enough that the 245 at 2700 out of the PRC loses in drop and wind.
Rumor has it 3200 is achievable with the 195s, but over a really hot load and with barrel life in the 800s.
Edit: not exactly apples to apples though, 30” 7mm vs 26” 30 cal.

Using RL26 and hornady brass. This thing is an absolute hammer. Using a Harrell tactical brake on it.You’re making me regret cutting the barrel for a can! That is FAST.
