How Far Would You Travel For Primers/Powder

I’m curious when people say they prepared, what does that term mean? If one can put together 10,000 rounds, did they prepare or just get a good start? Lol
Depends whose perspective.
To the current administration, that's a domestic terror threat.
To a gang in Chicago, that's a weekend's supply.
Everyone else falls somewhere in between.
As far as the OP, 600 miles one way.

I don't find driving to be a chore. It's quiet time. I factor in the cost of gas vs a local sale, but I would travel a number of hours to buy what I wanted.

600 miles each way to get to the Tulsa Gun show and back. I can USUALLY score a case or 2 of primes and a few jugs of powder at a good price. No shows last year is making my inventory decrease a bit so I hope the April show will be on. Plus it is the best gun show I have ever been to so I would go even without the reloading vendors there. The show is great-the drive sucks!

I know it is done in jest, but folks you had better start thinking about who see's these posts and comments and who you are and where, before you go advertising any amount of such supplies.
These politicians and anti-gun are checking and doing all they can to locate, ban and sieze large amounts of stuff.
And speaking about them and their goals, did you see the latest bill, introduced in N.M. ? Democrats want to make it a crime for parents to teach gun control, safe handling and shooting to their children under 12 years of age.
It is getting to be the less you say the better off you are. Think about it, and don't feed them information they will use against you and every firearm owner.

Do you have any proof of this.... I doubt it
Have you not seen, read or heard the news lately. Every time they learn of a person, from someone, or even some of late, involved in the capitol protest, they make a raid and you see where they person had guns, hundreds to thousands of round of ammo ( you think the is legal, right ?) and they are arrested.
Just open you eyes and ears and see what and how government is doing. There is just a touch of proof.

Yet not one law abiding citizen has been raided........ show me where...... don’t show me the shitbirds Bill!!!

This seems like a silly topic, pure speculation. Seems like the answer would always be "it depends".

How about instead, if anybody cares, or wonders how far on the kooky/desperate spectrum they have gone, ask Forum Members how far they have actually traveled to meet someone for a shooting-related deal.

I'll start. I flew (yes, my arms were tired) from OAK to STL to attend the concealed-carry course being taught by John Ross (he of 'Unintended Consequences' fame). Just to meet him, have him sign my copy of his book, and shoot his machine-guns, etc. on his private range in a rock quarry. Flew in the day the class started, returned the very next day (after the shooting session, which included a Glock 18).

On the flight back, I was sitting next to a guy and his wife who expressed interest in, and support of, the shooting sports. So, I loaned him my copy of 'Unintended Consequences', with the condition that he get it back to me. Never saw it again. Long since out of print, and kind of a collector's item. I WANT THAT BOOK BACK. (It's been 10+ years...)

Best book ever wrote for people like us. This is paperback and cheap enough to buy one for a friend

I have covered a good chunk of the Midwest chasing farm equipment down ( I am in Michigan ) last summer I drove to Nebraska line for a set of tractor tires .... I will normally do one way on interstates... and the other on more or less back roads... I like to stop at gun stores ( if it’s business hours) and check around... I might stumble on to something here and there but by far it’s usually the same if one can’t get it.. then the next can’t... but every so often a blind squirrel will find a nut..

The big thing is I enjoy driving and seeing our great country... so I don’t mind driving to get stuff.. I don’t really even factor in fuel or anything for that reason...

Huh, looks like JR has gotten this book printed again. I heard that he was possibly finally writing a sequel of sorts, but you know how rumors get started. Google Timex Social Club, and have a listen. You're welcome.

I made a detour on my way home from last years SWN to pick up a keg of Varget in Prescott. Only added a few extra miles/hours to the day. o_O
