How do you keep inventory?

Kind of a "first world" problem nowadays, but I missed out on an 8lb H1000 because I thought I had more than I really did. I have tried a few inventory apps for my phone but they are incomplete or so onerous to operate that I gave up on 'em.
I stripped the powder cabinet today just to get an accurate count and organize, primers and bullets are next.
Do you use an inventory app? I would like to hear your experience and recommendation!View attachment 1212592View attachment 1212593

I wrote a custom inventory application for my business, and I don't have nearly that much stuff to track!

Dang, what a bunch of powder. I don't have enough powder or primers to keep inventory of, but other things I keep inventory of, I use Excel. Excel is backed up to Microsoft OneDrive. That way I can access it from anywhere; laptop, phone, iPad, etc.

My take on this is that you are way too organized to begin with. Other than powder, ( because it is all locked up in one place so I can't mix them up during a prolonged loading session ), my stuff is organized by where there is space on a shelf at the time I get it home. To try and put it all in order to take inventory would exceed the time it takes to find what it is I'm looking for at any given moment. So my suggestion is get more horizontal surface and take a memory course to remember what you have, more or less.

Hope this helps you gain some balance in your pursuit of Zen in hand loading. And I leave you with these words to live by: If you can't remember it, forget it.

It is supposed to be fun, if you need to worry about it that much that you would need to keep an inventory i don't see how you could be having fun.

If I can get it, I buy it and worry about it later.
