ballistic apps for phones????

My old cell phone died a few weeks back and my wife brought back one of these new phones that all the kids are mesmerized by. I am really old school but I do know that they have apps that can be loaded on this phone that will retire my Palm Pilot for good. This sounds like one less POS to keep charged and carry with me, and that has to be a good thing. What is a good app and where do I find it? Also this phone seems to be a bastard with it operating system. Its a Nokia and I think it uses Windows 7 are there apps that work on this system? Thanks for looking and helping an old man out!

This seems to be the only one that works with Windows Phone 7.x (you're gonna have to update it to 7.5, if you can't you may be SOL):

I use Ballistic on iOS, but of course that doesn't help you.

My daughter brought up a phone app store that was on my phone ( who knew????). It has several options, ballistic calculator from Winchester, Ballistica from stonetip, The field ballistic one that came to me in the first reply, Strelok by Igor Borisov, and Bllistix from logicielEX. None of them seem to be rated to high. Has anybody used one of these that you liked?

I like http://www.accurateshooter.com/gear-reviews/shooter-ballistics-app-for-adroid-os/

I have Strelok on my phone. I know of a couple other guys that use it and ran into another guy at the range yesterday who also uses it. As long as the data you put into it is accurate, it will provide you with accurate results.

My shooting buddy retired and moved to Tenn , we talked the other day and he is using strelok, so I bought it. Mine isn't android so I had to pay for it cause the windows edition has a cost. It seems to work alright thus far. Thanks for all the replies

It is free for an android phone, not for one that works on my phone's system. At least not that I could find.

I have had the free Sterlok for a year. I just upgraded and bought the $15 Sterlok pro. Get it! It's full of super cool extras! You can download your current weather at any time and it automatically calculates it into the app. It also does moving objects and multiple targets. On your reticle view it will show the distance your bullet will go for every verticle marking on your reticle. It shows windage for all your horizontal markings too. It does all this at whatever power you choose for your SFP scopes and it's obviously shows all for FFP scopes. There is much more too. I wish I would of bought it originally. Hope this helps.

I have a windows phone and I am using Ballistica and Ballistics.

I've mostly used the Ballistica and it's charts compare exactly with my Applied ballistics on my old android(I kept it just to run the Applied ballistics). Its easy to use and has lots of features, but one thing I wish it did have was a sight in condition memory for a given load. It's just fine if you sight in and then shoot long on the same day/conditions.

Ballistics is a bit busy but seems to have everything I want. The charts look comparable and it has a couple of options for what calculator you want to use for your calculations. I just haven't used it much to get comfortable with it yet. I still go back to my applied ballistics on my old android. Even then I have to fudge something to get repeatable long range dope.

Good Luck,

I use Strelok on an android phone. As some have pointed out, free - easy to use - and VERY accurate. Nice to have up in the mountains or out on the p-dog field. Just have to input ACCURATE data. I have probably 6 rifles and 25 loads in its memory, all spot on! Eric in DL

Another thing I like about Strelok is that if I lose my phone or have to get a new one, it has a backup feature to restore the information to the phone. Just last week I lost my phone and had to get a new one. Fortunately, I backed up my data. All I had to do was click restore and everything was back as if it never happened.

I tried the Strelok app and yes, the free version is "a lot for the money" ;)

Wasn't quite what I was looking for so I got the SniperCalc Pro for a whopping $6.88 and run it on my Android device.

Has some neat features that aren't in the Strelok app and the main screen is as easy to use as can be.

Don't have to do a lot of key stroke entries, just simple up/down buttons and a touch and move feature for the wind compass. If you're concerned about revealing light, the screen is black with red and yellow characters and indicators on it.

Also has a nice "log" feature where you can record your hits for review later.
