Forum Boss: Non-upgraded members are allowed two (2) free ads every 12 months. Upgraded members get unlimited ads with a 12-mo. membership. That's a good deal. Consider that the current Gunbroker fee for one, single $600 item is $32.00 -- more than our Silver membership. And, a popular tactical forum is now charging $20 PER MONTH for classified privileges. That's $240/year folks.

The Boss has repeatedly said this over and over. Don't be surprised one day if you try to login and there is nothing to login into. Apparently, the site don't mean much to some. Hard to understand. There is nowhere online or off where one can get this kind of knowledge shared daily to help the shooting family.

Forum Boss does an incredible job, it’s a thankless job too, I’m sure the majority of us have no idea the time, diligence and at times frustration required to do what he does. We all benefit, at least those of us who frequent this forum on a daily or weekly basis. If you do use this forum regularly or come here when you need help I’d encourage you to make a donation, it can small or larger but I know it’s all appreciated.

Just made a small donation, I try and do that multiple times a year. I wish there was a platinum membership or whatever but I know many of us would pay 100.00 for a yearly membership.

Good job Boss and good job to any who have helped with their hard earned funds.

Thanks guys for supporting the site by becoming a Silver or Gold member. We do need to increase the level of support. At age 69, I am spending over 700 man-hours per year now just on background security checks and IP monitoring. That's 700 hours of work with no direct compensation -- that's why we need members to upgrade. We are also considering limiting certain areas of the site to Silver and Gold members.

I am going to say something that might get me in trouble or possibly banned. It has been bugging me for a long time, and anyway...Here goes:
Every once in a while, the Forum Boss submits a post like the one above, describing all his work (there is no denying that!) for so little compensation. I completely agree with him. In my opinion, he works his butt off in keeping up one of the best, (if not the best) shooting enthusiast forums on the Internet. His working all these hours for so little compensation is his fault. A few times he has been encouraged by members to go ahead and start requiring paid memberships to participate in this forum. If he did would he lose some members? Quite possibly, but, I feel that a large majority of the membership would remain here. I'm sure that most members here would be glad to post ideas on a rate structure.
Forum Boss...You have worked too long and too hard!
So there you have it. Go ahead and let me have it, I am a big boy. If you feel I am wrong.
