From @Forum Boss:
The Forum is experiencing some slow-downs today. This is NOT caused by the new Forum software, nor is it caused by our server (which has a very high capacity). The issue, so far as we can determine, is caused by problems with Sucuri, the Enterprise-level security service we use to protect the site from attacks by hackers and bad bots.
As admins, we are able to see the site "inside the walls" -- and it is blazing fast. But outside the Sucuri gate, connections are not working as they should.
This is frustrating because Sucuri is supposed to make the site faster, not slower.
In any case, please understand that we are doing our best to get the situation resolved. But also understand that it is a little bit like getting a big government agency to fix something. Sucuri is a huge network, that is servicing some of the largest websites in the world. We are a small player.
You may ask, "Well, why not turn Sucuri off?" That is an option... but then we have to re-set the site numbers (DNS records) and that could take hours to filter through the internet. That would effectively put the forum "off the air" for a while, which we want to avoid. Additionally, we do need some kind of security service like this.
I wish I could give you guys an ETA... but, unfortunately, we can only wait to see how Sucuri resolves the situation.
