House arrest!

If you owe more than you own then you don't own anything, yes. If you didn't own the range you wouldn't have to pay tax on it - the owner would.

You are wrong. I have one home that I owe a very small amount on. Bank keeps wanting me to refinance, but that would actually cost me more when all of the fees are added in. That house payment is $200.00/month. I own numerous (less than 10) other homes, all free and clear. One credit card that is paid off multiple times per month, via bank transfer. I suspect that the Founding Fathers have no problems with what I have amassed using their rules.

You miss my point.. If someone can take it from you, then you do not truely own it.. I paid cash for 300 acres. Yet if I don't pay taxes they take it.. From my point of view that means I rent it not own it.. I would like a little freedom.. I would gladly pay higher state tax to actually own my land..

Good night every one...

Do you have the deed to your property? I assume you do. Accordingly, you own it as that term is defined. Your property taxes pay for something that benefits you or is used by you and others.

For example, some of my $8,500 in yearly property taxes pays for schools. Hopefully those educated in the schools pay social security taxes so that I get paid significantly more, after I begin taking payments when I turn 70, than my employer or I ever paid into the system.

At this point, we may need to simplify the golden rule to " don't be a dick"
lets count our blessings (cheese dick as it may sound). For once in a long time, I can now afford
my own time. Lets get our scopes back on the X ring. Put a flag by your door, say prayer, tie a ribbon around
a tree..... If we all keep up this asshole mess, I might start rooting for the locusts

Guys, love thy neighbor. Shoot those that threaten them. Be safe, stay healthy and
stir clear of those that are ignorant as they propagate this virus. It is real, not a conspiracy. It's here, it kills and if you exercise your right to come around my Dad who is 80 or my Mother in law, 78 with respiratory issues then I'll guess I'll use that lime I had for the garden for other things. Take this serious fellow members. Not asking to GIVE UP rights, just love your neighbor. No need to argue as it shows complete ignorance.

There is no Law Higher than the Constitution... Period end of story. I posted the four powers given to the government previously... Making me stay home was not one of them..

Tell me why then is it not illegal for a person with HIV to have unprotected sex with another person and is not required to inform them of their illness...?

I'm afraid that statement is simply not always true. Although the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to peaceable assembly under the 1st Amendment, the authority to make and enforce laws pertaining to public health and safety falls within the powers of the states under the 10th Amendment. Under common law, the meeting of three or more persons MAY constitute unlawful assembly if their purpose for assembly is illegal, or if their meeting will breach the public peace of the community. Ascertaining whether such a gathering constitutes a potential danger to public safety or breach of the peace can certainly be subjective, but is typically made on location by law enforcement or other officials. This authority provides a very wide latitude with respect to declaring unlawful assembly.

Likewise, the 1st Amendment also protects the right to free speech. Nonetheless, it is illegal anywhere in this country to start yelling, "Fire" in a packed building if there isn't really a fire. The individual right to free speech is superseded by the public's right to safety, as it should be.

Arguments about the legality of state or local government requiring citizens to remain at home in the midst of this health crisis are foolish and counterproductive. How about moving on to something more useful and positive?

Because this is such a ravenous disease self quarantine is the smartest thing we can do. The ill should do anything not to spread this like the aids scare in the 80's till right now so we practice safe sex so as not to spread a life threatening illness. The problem with this is the long incubation where in 2 weeks or so you spread it to anyone you meet unintentionally. So quarantine is the only ammo we have till this virus burns out. Me and my girlfriend are trying to avoid going anywhere except when we absolutely need to go out for meds or necessities. This is a very dangerous virus and I am at risk and would appreciate people who go along with this to avoid dying. I never thought in my wildest dreams that something this bad would come along. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't some crazy medical experiment that got out of a lab accidently. I wish the Chinese govt would be honest and quit lying to cover up their malfeasance.

Do I have a right to ride a bicycle on an interstate highway? I paid for the road with my gas taxes. I have freedom of movement guaranteed by the constitution. We all have rights but with those rights come responsibilities and riding a bike on the beltway at rush hour isn't responsible. As far as owning property, when you signed all the papers pertaining to it's purchase or had it given to you, you agreed to certain conditions, one of which was paying taxes on it. Not knowledgeable about other states but if I don't pay my property taxes my property will go to sheriff's sale. Having said all that, I don't like this situation any more than anyone else but for all intents and purposes, we, U.S. citizens, are in this together, either physically or economically, regardless of your location, how much food you have, land you own, or your stockpile of toilet paper. Me? I'm just thankful I'm looking at this right now. A lot of poor souls here and around the world are not.

One of the biggest problems I think will come of this, is the problem of care givers at retirement/nursing homes. Being the incubation period for cv19 is supposedly 7 days and the vast majority of care givers are not/cannot be tested at this time, it is a recipe for disaster. Most of these care givers, in this area anyway, are required to go to work because they cannot be instantly replaced if they are not feeling well. I am in no way attempting to place any kind of fault, but it is a very unfortunate situation.

Hey kid! Me thinks that you are a millennial or a ??? Don't judge folks that have problems and hurt. No, I've never had a problem with knees, hips, or such. I have had 5 neck and back surgeries that came from real hard work. Unloaded box car loads of sheet rock in 100+ weather, unloaded flatbed train cars with bricks with brick tongs, ran a jackhammer in the basements of old military barracks in 100+ temps at Sheppard AFB in Texas. You know what? I paid for my insurance and the difference that it didn't pay. I'm still not crying about it.
You're crying about the wrong folks kid.
did you do it for 50 years framing houses concrete and roofing like I did? I quit school at 15 and started carrying lumber. like I said I am tired of old guys ripping young guys. also your surgeries did NOT WORK that is why you had so many. tiger woods a billionaire best doctors and his did not work. that is what I mean where the amount of money wasted on surgeries that do not work

My final post of this subject.. Thence forth I shall try to stick to gun stuff. I just want to enjoy the freedom our fore father had envisioned for us. I have to get a back ground check to buy a weapon. Do you or the news media have to go through back ground checks to do a new story? Or do you go through a back ground check to post here? To buy a suppressor we pay a tax and a back ground check. So what's to say they can not tax your right to vote in the future?

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Benjamin Franklin... This pretty much sums up my thought..

"They can take our live but they can never take our freedom"... William Wallace..
(Movie Quote)
I am done.... on the subject matter..

If I have offended anyone I apologize... I enjoy my time on here..

So would you rather young people grow through life with no guidance? ... because that is what has been happening, and it's not good.

Literally no one can argue that 20-something's from today are more responsible and well adjusted than 20-somethings from the 50's. Most that I've met, can't be told anything... even when they directly ask and are given an answer learned at great personal expense. They simply think they are smart enough for experience to not matter. Come to think of it, that's most people of ANY age anymore.

People have made it their mission in life to have opinions regarding things they have zero experience with.

Divorces at record highs. Student loan debt the largest item on the national balance sheet. Credit card debt through the roof. There's a problem with individual accountability in this country, and age doesn't have a single thing to do with it. "Boomers" aren't responsible for a 30yr old man on his 3rd divorce. "Boomers" aren't responsible for a 22yr old getting out of college with $125K student loan debt and a degree in "Business Management." The "Millennials" aren't responsible for a 50-something that can't sell his cookie-cutter $600,000 McMansion in an uppity neighborhood with despicable home owners association.

Individual responsibility. Stop trying to impress everyone. Stop being greedy. Stop letting women destroy you. Stop living beyond your means.

Make better choices, open a bible, and live better lives.

If everyone did that... the rest of this would be sorted out in short order.
