hot rod 22

I like the .22-243Win & larger AI because it will perform from a standard short action, ~26" barrel & will rock with .243Win Lapua brass. Long actions & long barrels are fine if your not humping the rifle around & want to eeek all the speed you can out of a heavy bullet. Having dies & brass already is another important factor, sure makes things easier to wildcat with what you've got in hand!

If you're feeding from a SA w/factory blind mag (ADL/BDL), stay with the .22-243Win to keep it feeding smooth. I had one on a little Model Seven (BDL) and it was a little badazz! Otherwise, the AI flavor rocks from a standard SA w/ DBM & AICS mags. Throated accordingly, the .22-243AI will allow you to nearly match the capacity of .22-6mm, from a short action...

This all said, obviously there's "give & take" with almost any hotrod. From ease of sizing & forming, to die availability & cost, from brass quality & case life, to operating pressure & net velocity, to feeding & case length constraints, to personal preference & favoritism! Keep them all in mind when deciding, and you'll figure out which one is best for you!

Regardless of which route ya choose, once ya get a 75gr + bullet spooled up much over 3500, you'll start to see the pixie dust and it will make you :)
