Hornady Power Case Trimmer

mine will be here today, I was going to buy a Giraud but, after 4 phone calls and no return call. no way. I looked at the Henderson and don't like the cutter head setup or the need to buy a different cutter head for every case or an extra belt?? I called Hornady and a live person picked up the phone and answered my questions, said call back if i needed any help. In my opinion, they are not that close in design. horizontal case trimmers using collets to hold the case have been around for a long time. just because they are both red doesn't make them the same. I am in the process of making 1000 20 vartargs and will be trimming in the next day or two, I will report on how much I like it or not then.
You may not have heard, but, Doug Giraud died a few weeks ago. His son is supposed to be continuing the business but in all likelihood Doug's passing has caused some interruption in service.

I got my Hornady 3 in 1 not long ago. It took me a bit to get it operating as it should. Once I did, it has turned out to be quite nice, I'm glad I bought it. It's super quiet and does a pretty decent job...once you get it set properly.

I have had my Hornady trimmer about six months and love it. Its quiet and easy to set up. Anyone need a Wilson manual trimmer I have one for sale.

I had both a Giraud and a Henderson for a bit.

I decided to keep the Henderson and sell the Giraud.

I have one cutter for each bullet diameter to save time adjusting cutters. A light polish on the pilot keeps the pilot from scuffing the inside of the necks.

Mine is a V2 so I can adjust the speed. I dont know if that is good or bad.

Dick move on Hornadys part for copying Hendersons design.

Buying the extra heads saves a lot of time on setup when changing calibers. I like mine a lot too. I added a micrometer stop to it - something Hornady seems to have added. Henderson was going to add that to theirs when I last communicated with them, showing my setup. That was a while back - like a year?
A micrometer stop would be nice. The bolt setup isn't bad. Once I have it set for a cartridge I leave it set and mark it for what it's for. Just change the bolt as needed and check cutting length to make sure it's still set. I have not had to readjust bolt length yet, lock nut holds adjustment well.

I received my Hornady trimmer yesterday. Once I got it set up and familiarized myself with it, I really like it. It is quieter than the Henderson I used previously. It's quick to use and trims very accurately. I'm very happy I bought it.

I have done 1000 vartarg cases now and am glad I bought it. the cutters are so easy to adjust, so I don't see any reason to buy extra cutting heads. It's well built with a lot of solid aluminum and the direct drive motor is a plus.
Are you guys satisfied with the way it deburrs and chamfers too?

If you already had the Henderson trimmer why would you buy the Hornady?

In the description it says 22 cal to 30 cal. How are you doing 20? I have over 1000 Vartarg to trim so I'm very interested
