The big money is in PRS.
The money is also in elr shooting. Why is there no offering in 375 and 416? Their price point atleast makes since in the elr bullet category

I like how they are going to package the bullets sequentially....
Yup 1 & 2 were good,3 sucked, yup 4 was good, 5 not so good....
And how much is this gonna cost the shooter?

Isn’t the direction in ELR towards solid/monolithic bullets?

Don't worry. The Hornady fan boys, aka, we get 'em free to try, will be along soon to say they're worth the money and a perfect match for the Creedmost.
It will either be a 6mm DASHMOOR or 30 WSMMOOR something a little more accurate!

how are aluminium tips going to react with steel targets? pit the target? Potential sparks / fire hazard?
It's non-sparking but it will burn if it gets hot enough and it can't be put out with CO2, it produces it's own oxygen just like magnesium. Powdered aluminum mixed with the right1) I don't think Aluminum is "sparking"
Clearly not looking to attract f-class guys with those calibers and weights. A few 6mm guys might try but that's it IMO.
It's just my opinion, and yes, everybody's got one, that this thing is dead coming out of the gate, The big cost in this is not the bullet making, that just about like any of the tipped bullets, it's the special packaging and individual bullet handing to get them in the package and boxed. I wouldn't think Hornady would make the large investment in the machinery necessary to do this with automation. It's the hype surrounding the one thru 100 placement in the individual little pockets with the supplied matching cover that goes into the awesome looking box. This is all a marketing ploy and will not stand on it's own two feet. There may be a small niche, and small it will be, and the test results will show that it is as wonderful as the Lone Ranger's silver bullet capable of magical accuracy but the real proof is yet to be determined and will probably not make you a one hole shooter.
