No. I think if it's robbing it of a little BC, it's not effecting the accuracy. It's seems to be just about the perfect twist. I think if I stepped down into a 7 twist somewhere, I could lose jackets on the 88s. I've had 7-7.5 for the .224 barrels running 3500 fps and they are churning up too many RPMs for the .224 Hornady jackets. The 8 twist slows down the spin enough to preserve jackets while still giving near full BC value. I've had barrels that loved the 88 ELDs with 8 twist barrels. Not Ackley chambers but fast cartridges.

What altitude were you mainly shooting at? I am 6-800 foot
782 is where my 600 yards range sits. I use it in Ohio at around 1500'
