Hornady 6mm ARC "New" cartridge

Seems resiculous to me. Necking down the grendel was already a thing. They basically stole the 6mm grendel and made it their own namd round to make brass for and push like the creedmore. This round is nothing new, its a knock off grendel.

Im boycotting this round already. Its a creedmoore counterpart. Im really not a hornady fan at all now, not that I own anything hornady anyways.

Yeah, I hate how Hornady has successfully marketed their tawdry products as archetypal to the proselytes of our sport. How dare they standardize our prized abstruse and esoteric wildcats for the ignorant novitiates! Don't they know these arcane cartridges are meant only for the uncanny and enigmatic silo of erudite benchresters? How dare they debauch our sport so!

;) I learned some new words today and wanted to try them out! :D Momma always said that a good vocabulary is an important piece of expressing yourself.

Not another 6PPC nock off!! We already have to many of them, and they are NEVER as good as the PPC. Just make a frigin PPC, how hard is that? Good news is though is that there will be more rifles that can be converted to PPC.

By the way I find it ironic that everyone is always trying to fit an AK based cartridge into their AR but no one is ever trying to fit a 556 into their AK.

It will be interesting to see how accurate you guys can make it shoot out of a bolt gun. I think it will create a new surge in the AR-15 platform, hot item for coyote hunters.

I agree, bolt rifle accuracy should be interesting, along with barrel length. Hornady lists their velocities with 24" barrels. Military uses 20" or 14 1/2" barrels. Us bolt gun reloaders may be able to ignore the 52,000 PSI limit but that's to be seen.

As far as hunting with an AR platform the 6mm ARC as well as the 6.5 Grendel are welcome chamberings. As far as my bolt rifle I'm not running out and dumping my 700 Remington in 6mm Remington.

I have not read enough to see what the military has in mind. At 52,000 PSI it lends itself to rapid fire with longer life then the current 5.56 NATO M855A1 cartridge. However from my experiance with 100+ grain projectiles for up close and personel work an M4 configuration with force multipliers may need to come in at around 7 lbs + to be easily manageable with rapid fire. As the standard M16 configuration, I see the 6mm as an asset.
