Hoover meplat trimmer and built pointing die.

Who here has used the accuracy one , John Hoover meplat trimmer or the bullet pointing die, what do you think of the devices?

I use the Hoover meplat trimmer and have no complaints. It trims all my match bullets prior to pointing and does it quickly and accurately.

I also use the Hoover meplat trimmer, it's quick and precise and I have to say much better than the Whidden or the other piece of junk I previously used.

It must make a difference if you use the system. Just how much does it affect your accuracy at 1,000yds?

Hi Dennis, I use the Hoover system. I did a test at 1000yrds.
10rnds. fully preped 180 berger hybrid (No trim or point).
droped 2rnds in the 9

Next 10 rnds. fully preped 180 berger hyb. (trimed).
All inside the 10 ring.

Did this test in low wind in the evening.

More test later.

I use the Hoover Meplat trimmer and die. There is an art to making the perfect tips for each type of bullet. I have tested trimmed and untrimmed bullets for the same load while tuning to make sure it is worth the effort. One of my best investments. John is great to work with.
Anybody want to buy the competitor's trimmer and die cheap, perhaps for fishing weights?

I use both the trimmer and the pointer and i power the trimmer. I did well at 1K with it and was very consistent, groups were small average was 4.53 with the light gun....... jim
