Just for your knowledge I simply held onto the action body and stroked it over the hone mandrel as any other piece I would’ve honed. Lapping is a good idea in theory but the Remington action is so weak the lap mandrel flexes the action body as it’s pushed from one end of the action to the other. Once again, all current custom actions check all the tolerance boxes. Considering this is for your knowledge by all means try, experiment and learn.THANK YOU ! This is the exact real world experience I was looking for. You did it. Learned that for you it wasn’t worth the effort for the results. Much appreciated !
