Let’s say shooting at 1K those of you that hold off center for wind calls what the most (ring #)you have ever held off in the worst wind you have shot in, 8 ring, 9? just curious
Jeff Just curious, Winds in mph Appx?, And, how far away was your neighbors Target?Often shooting 500 yds at 1 inch 10 rings with a 6ppc I have often held on neighboring targets. Somwtimes it worked very well . No I never shot the other guys targets.
Reno (Palamino) 1000 YD Nats 2004.I have held on my neighbors target on the left or right.
Yep. Me, too. One time off my target right and off my target left in the same 20 shot string. That's Long Range Alley (LA) for you . . .I have held on my neighbors target on the left or right.
At that match there are no windflags of anykind. Ok, center of the 10 ring to the edge of the target is 5 .75 inches. I guess there is about 6 inches between targets, no more than that. There are 3.5 inches of target u til you hit the 6/7 line. I never went in farther than that. So maybe13 inches max. Usually just to the edge or slightly over on the other target so 9 to 11 inches. This usually was in a 9 to 3 wind and the mirage flowing HARD. Shooting out an old strip mine with lots of wet areas. I don't do wind speed per se. Just flags mirage, and experience.Jeff Just curious, Winds in mph Appx?, And, how far away was your neighbors Target?
If you try to judge wind speed and do the calculations it would be good to know. And all of this is why you need to know the distance center to center of the range you are on.
Rough rule of thumb and generally speaking: 10 minutes. But who cares...hold off is hold off!!If you try to judge wind speed and do the calculations it would be good to know.
