Hodgdon Powder Article Today’s Bulletin

I ran across a cat on another forum being a jerk, telling everyone to quit complaining about how much he was asking for powder and primers. They needed it and he had it so suck it up and quit crying to him. I have enough components to last a couple years I believe but that assed me off beyond control. I expected to get the boots from the powers to be after I went off on him, instead I got an apology for them not kicking them out sooner. Damn the luck, so I left the group on my own.

If anything at all positive can come out of this covid pandemic it should be the awakening as to the risk of having so much stuff made overseas.
Perhaps this ammo crisis has highlighted that Powder should be made in the US again. Australia is not the safest of bets when it come to a supply line. Certainly a lot less pro firearms if the US Political relationship where to sour or Australia could object to some action that takes place there and decides to boycott or not support the action by banning sending powder.

WOW......I have not looked at GB until just now. $601 current bid on 8lb of Varget....o_O....Having a REAL hard time wrapping my head around that one. I have enough powder to last me while but seeing where this seems to be going definitely has me re-thinking pulling the trigger just to kill some time. Maybe a few shots before going to a match to knock the dust off, but until the "New Normal" settles in I am seriously thinking of dialing things back a bit.....:(

Regards
Rick

I am going to shoot as much as possible and when my supplies run out, they run out. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, so I’ll shoot. Once my stuff is gone, I won’t pay exorbitant prices, so I’ll find something else to do. I’m not going to feed in to this madness.

Problem is things like powder are made over seas because of our own government shooting companies in the foot with ridiculous environmental regulations and red tape. Not to mention the extra taxes they have to pay for being "firearm related" and the required insurances. Also the ever increasing mandated minimum wage increases. I can understand from a business standpoint why they are not US made but it is unfortunate that our own Government is our own worst enemy, and this is true for numerous types of industries not just gun powder. Think of where we could be if the government would relax the regulations on Nuclear energy. We dang sure wouldn't have all this green new deal bull crap and Texas dang sure wouldn't have froze over. They want us to go green but they want us to do it their way.

Australia has a $16/hr minimum wage.
