Barrel heat

I wonder if heat & erosion is less, when the front of the bullet engauges/seals the rifling, before the bullet shank exits the case mouth? Less blowby of the bullet? Mostly factory rifles.

Example- shooting a 55 gr bullet in a 243 Win factory chamber. Lots of bullet jump.
 
Temp strips can be a good way to find out your barrel temps and also at what temp your getting your best groups. I found that my 6.5 CM gives me the best groups at temps from 122 - 133 deg., and my 6mm likes temps from 120 - 138 deg. Have the strips on all my guns.
