For those of you that have the temptation to buy. I suggest discussing every purchase that you want to make with the wife, therefore any hoarding trends that you may have will magically go away!
I'd hate to think what people would say about a guy who bought pallets of primers , Uh Oh !.![]()
Completely understand. But, depends on wife's attitude. My wife encourages my participation because 'it's good for me'.For those of you that have the temptation to buy. I agree completely!Best statement on this thread.
And on how to live.
I think right now if you are into competition shooting and holding anything under 2 years of components you being foolish. Personally, I’m only holding a little over 1 years worth but we have three shooters in the family and we’ve only been in the game for a little over 3 years. I’m constantly looking for our key components. Unfortunately we shoot 4 different powders, 4 different bullets, and both large and small primersHe yall. Just wondering what your thoughts are on hoarding supplies? With all this nonsense going on for many years. I havent bough much in years. But i remember prob 8-10 years ago the first time 22s got scarce where i lived. Was just looking today and saw nosler has gone to 50 count packs for bts of some bullets. So im out of the loop. And talks of 20% increases 2x a year nonsense.

All one has to do is think back to 2005 and hurricane katrina and what happened in the New Orleans superdome. Civilized behavior hangs by a string and that is even more graphically illustrated by the big city riots and chaos of the last few years. I fervently hope you are wrong, but to plan on the fact you are is dangerous.I've been "hoarding" since I saw the writing on the wall.........that was the Clinton years for me. I don't consider it hoarding as much as preparing.....been consolidating lately to only powders I will use once "it" takes place....and if I have to explain what I'm preparing for.........you're WAY too blind and trusting for me to do you any good. I have more than I can ever use, but I may have enough to supply my family and friends.
This isn't for scalping, blasting, target shooting, or anything of that nature. I've got enough of that type to last me and my immediate family for awhile. My hobby stuff is topped off full.
IF prices drop AND it doesn't hit the fan soon, I will be "hoarding" even more.....a lot more...........if you choose not to, that's on you pal. I'm taking care of me and mine.
THIS! I had like 40k of Wolf SRM primers when they were dirt cheap. I wouldn't buy them at these nutty prices now. It's only "hoarding" if it's in short supply. When it's plentiful (and cheap) you're just taking prudent precautions against future supply issues.
Know a fellow that has seen every shortage since the early 90’s. And each time he pisses and moans and whines until one of his friends bales him out again. And when he finds something at current market value be screams, “gouging!”He yall. Just wondering what your thoughts are on hoarding supplies? With all this nonsense going on for many years. Here’s a mystery; if you have half a dozen firearms and enough ammo to have to make more than one trip, folks(wives) will ask, “What could you possibly need with another gun?”My two cents is that aint no man gonna tell me what I can buy and what I cant!
If I want more than I can use in my lifetime and help supply my family thats what Im going to do. I have given away some bullets and primers to an older gentleman that I know to make sure he has enough to last him the rest of his life too.
If you see it and you want it, buy it and dont feel bad about it. This is The good ol' U S of A damn it!
