History of Rimfire Barrel Tuners

Does anyone know when the first modern barrel tuners came onto the scene. I'm particularly interested in the Harrell tuner which seems to be widely used by rimfire BR shooters. When did these become available?

Harrells are copies or continuations, if you will of the Hoehn 4000 that used to be outsourced by Ron.
This was about when Calfee and Time precision came with adjustable tuners and Anschutz even came with a non adjustable one on the first 2007 series barreled actions.
It was mid 80's these things started showing up. Harrells survived as the most popular over the years.

Tuners Come in different configurations. I used to shoot on the Navy smallbore team in San Diego, and was issued a Winchester 52D that had 2 large diameter screws in the forend that you adjusted so as to put more pressure on the barrel from below. Iirc, the screw tips had a nylon insert, I did adjust them on occasion, but at that time did not see the benefit, however I am a believer in tuners on both rimfire and centerfire. This was in the early to late 1970’s
