Hilarious picture!

Every once in a while I run across an absurd stock photo for various industries, but this is the first time seeing one for reloading! I don't think its going to stay in the flame long enough to get annealed, lol!

Guys used to do this all the time, back in the day before there were machines for everything. I believe I remember reading either Dean Grennel or Elwood Epps recommending it in an old Reloader's Digest.
It works fine. Just when it's too hot to hold, it's probably hot enough at the neck. Drop it into a pan of water.

Heat travels up. As long as you orient the case vertically, the heat won't make it to the case head. It's thermodynamics. I used to do it that way. I'd rather do it with cordless drill for better heat distribution on the neck.
Trust me heat travels down also. I found out when accidentally annealing one with a live primer. About 4 seconds!

Maybe just maybe the man is a welder with 40 years experience. If that is so then this is nothing to him
Or a chef. My friends who spend 10-12 hours a day in kitchen will grab 250° pot lids, spoons left in pans, or sheet pans out of ovens with just a single layer of towel sometimes.
